The dynamic duo (not mine)

Finn and Carla (two different homes), making an appearance as I was headed to catch the bus early Saturday morning. As a reminder, Carla despises my boys and they despise her too. Nicki gets his back up when Finn's around the fence as well, but doesn't go as ballistic as when it's Carla.

Carla has serious attitude and isn't exactly friendly. I've never attempted to pat her; I value my hands too much, thanks.

Then on Sunday I saw this ginger boy/girl while walking home from errands. Somewhere in my pics I'm sure I have a few other snapshots of him/her (it's not Oscar, though--different area).
Yet another feline who seems unimpressed with a camera-wielding human.
So the not-quite-freezing weather is bringing everyone out, it would seem.  :-)

It's also bringing out some blooms!

As for my two, well, Nicki had an asthma (?) attack Saturday evening. He was in the bathroom with me, purring up a storm, and it triggered the same kind of coughing session. (That's not been uncommon in the past, that he purrs with such vigour that it triggers his coughing.) So I'm not sure if I can say it was his asthma; however, the result was the same. The last time I saw him cough like this was March 8th, so I was more than a bit dismayed and discouraged. He's on the highest possible dose of Flovent daily, and I got a refill on the inhaler yesterday as the morning one was almost finished (always use two in tandem, the older one for the morning dose and the newer for the evening dose).

Of course I spent all Sunday (when I was home), jumping at the slightest sound he'd make, anticipating an asthma attack. No wonder I'm exhausted all the time, worrying about every tiny detail of their lives. It's not healthy--for me or for them! In Nicki's case, I'll just have to see how things go, and if the Flovent isn't working the way it should, will look at other med options (like adding in a long-acting brochodilator or supplementing with Prednisolone--much as I'd hate to go that route).

As for Derry, he got into something this morning, beats me what, maybe something that picked him or stung him. He landed on the back step and looked like he was trying to get something off his fur, was having a little "fit." Crazy cat. I took a cloth and went out to wipe off his paws and fur, and he seemed fine by the time I was leaving for work.

Good thing that basket can expand to fit his girth.
Snapped without the flash, as he was on my lap and being his usual sookie-boy self.
So that was my critter weekend. The rest of it was filled with the usual errands and house chores, with a bit of shopping for some needed sneakers and zero luck finding summer weight slacks that actually fit properly.

Now pardon me while I make (yet another) cup of coffee, lest I fall asleep over my keyboard!

Peace.

Cats seem to follow you and poor Nicki is so overwhelmed with love when he is purring for you that he helps to bring on the attack. I would be like you and jump at every sound. Poor Derry, thank goodness he is ok!

Love the pics! Neighborhood cats don't seem to be lacking food... all seem a bit chubby. Flowers beautiful! And as for Nikki and Derry.... so sweet.

Not sure it's kitty "love," probably more wanting to be the centre of my attention when I'm trying to get ready to shower. LOL.

Yes, Finn's the mooch, but alas, both look pretty trim compared to my two!

It's good to see the neighborhood kitties! (and your boys too!)

It sounds as though Nicki is fated to have periodic attacks, no matter what the treatment. One every six or seven weeks is probably better than what it was, but I can imagine that it is very alarming.

So sorry about Nicki's attack. I know it is so hard watching your pets suffer. Love the pictures! Enjoy the beautiful day today.

The photos of all the kitties and of course the emerging signs of Spring are nice! I am so sorry about Nicki. You are doing all you can for him and at best it sounds like you have to manage the asthma as best you can, which is what you are doing. Continued purrs for Nicki. AND you!

The pictures of the spring flowers and neighbor kitties are lovely. I'm sorry about Nicki's recent attack, but it does seem overall his asthma attacks are fewer (?) and that you do a great job taking care of him. Great shots of your boys as always!

You sure do have a lot of cats around your house! They are beautiful, but I'm sorry they upset Nicki and Derry near the fence. Sorry to hear about Nicki's asthma and whatever Derry picked up. And for your lack of sleep. Purrs, prayers and hugs to you all. Happy spring!
