Um, I think I have control issues :-)

There are two pet-sitting companies in our area and I emailed them both this morning to explain that I might suddenly need to make a trip to Halifax and to ask for further info re: their services. I've actually heard back from both (and on a weekend too) and will book an initial appointment with each to get a feel for them.

But oh, it really, really, really bothers me to be faced with having to give up control of care of the boys! The owner of one of the two companies said they've actually given Flovent before, but even so, I wouldn't trust anyone to give Nicki the correct meds at the correct times of day.

So, okay, I have control and trust issues.  :-)

Still, I want my ducks lined up in a row, so their care is one less detail I have to concern myself about, when the time comes.

The other thing I need to get is an airline-approved carry-on. Air Canada, which is the only airliner that flies out of our city, now is enforcing very strict measurement guidelines for carry-ons. So I'll invest in something that will pass regulation, and that will be the only bag I'll travel with. No checked baggage for me.

As for Harry: They did remove a lot of fluid from his pleural cavity a couple of days ago, but it was just today (I think) that they were able to take him off oxygen. So that's an improvement, though he's been so confused and agitated at night that he's had to be sedated, unfortunately. I think this major TIA has augmented his dementia; certainly Mom sees it. So everyone still is in limbo, waiting to see whether or not he recovers enough to go into long term care.

Today was the usual errands and housework, though what wasn't the norm was having to dress in a long-sleeved tee-shirt, long-sleeved cardigan, jacket and gloves to out early this morning. Brrrr. It had been minus 1 Celsius overnight, with a frost risk. And it's nearly June! My plants seemed fine and there wasn't any sign of frost on the roof tops or on the ground, fortunately.

I came home and started moving furniture around, did enough reorganizing to get rid of one smallish but heavy Ikea storage piece. It's now in the garage, with all the other furniture and stuff, waiting for donation/pick up. (When I'm ready I'll probably email the same guy who cleaned out my garage last fall, to see if he still does that on the side). Little by little I'm trying to streamline.
