Holy cat hair, Batman!

The Furminator I ordered arrived in the mail yesterday. Thank you, Amazon.ca. for being super-speedy!

Like so many other people, I've been skeptical that this really would make a significant difference, but holy cat hair, Batman, I sure had to eat my words last night. (I might have eaten some fur too, with all that was flying around.)

Both boys like to be combed/brushed and I do it frequently and thought I was getting a lot of hair out. But wow, with just a few strokes of the Furmniator I got more hair out of both of them, more easily, than with any previous combing and brushing.

I made sure to be very gentle and give them lots of praise, because it's not like the massage brush they love so much or even the fine-tooth plastic human comb they're used to. I can see why it's suggested that pets be "Furminated" only once or twice a week, not daily, high shedding season excepted.

Bottom line: It was worth the purchase price, and if you don't already have one (and your cats/dogs tolerate or like being brushed), I highly recommend it. I'm lucky that both boys are short-haired, so had to order only that one, not the long-haired one too!

I'm looking forward to giving it a go again...before I run the vacuum.  :-)

Peace.

So glad to hear you got such great success with that brush! It's funny because Boo, Ping and Jinx are all very short haired, Annabelle has long fluffy soft fur. Who sheds the worst? Jinx and Ping. I could make a blanket out the fur I get off of them. If I brushed them everyday they would love it.

Wow,glad it works so well. We were lucky that all three of our cats loved to be brushed. I wish I had known about this tool when we had them.
Snuggle the boys for me!

It sounds like a useful product. I've seen the promotional videos for it and they make it look as if the brush retains all the hair to be deposited at the human's will. That's not the case?

It does. I'd brushed Derry the first time while outside and was removing the hair after each swipe -- it was all blowing in the wind. :-)
I have watched a video about the furminator and was all set to buy it until I saw the price and I held off....thinking what if it doesn't work! It's good to know that you liked it so much! I really need to reconsider as Emily could really use an extra brushing =)
Glad the boys both liked it!

Thanks for the update, Kim. Our cats love to be brushed too... but we only have a wire brush and a close toothed comb that we use. But I will check into this as Ghost has the thickest coat of hair we've ever seen.
Yep!!! We reviewed it on Cody's blog a few years ago. It is his FAVORITE! It is the BEST on the market!

Both Sami and Sasha love the Furminator though Saku will only tolerate it for a few brief strokes. It's definitely worth the cost!
