Staycation Day 1
1. Woken up through the night by Derry, who repeatedly wanted his cuddles. I love you too, Derry.
2. Up at 4AM to feed the cats, let them out in the back space, MAKE COFFEE.
3. Laundry
4. Clean windows in back two rooms...which haven't been cleaned since they were installed oh, 1.5 years ago. And only done now because I might have an overnight wedding guest (the wedding I'm attending tomorrow) stay after the reception/party (which I have no intention of staying for, myself). I hope that won't be the case, because it's a lot of bother for one night (and a lot of clean up and laundry after), but I'll just have to roll with it, whatever happens.
5. Out the door at 8AM to walk the half hour to my bank (payday). No walking, no eating! :-)
6. Bus out to the west end, a stop at McDonald's for coffee and a hash brown (I admit I love all the fat...160 calories in one of those).
7. On foot to PetSmart for kibble and some canned on sale. Hurrah for the sale!
8. Bus to the "big" mall/transfer point, another bus down to Farm Boy, on foot to FreshCo for a big stock-up order (kitty litter, etc. -- heavy stuff). Taxi home. Cab surprisingly quick to arrive, given it's payday, pension cheque day, welfare cheque day and the Friday before a long holiday weekend.
9. Home around 11AM, tons of unpacking and hauling litter to the basement, etc.
10. 11:45 bus to head downtown
11. Trendy restaurant gift certificate for the couple being married
12. Shoppers Drug Mart for epsom salts, because yes, my feet hurt that much every single day.
13. Bus back up to an LCBO for "lite" booze, in case the possible Saturday overnight guest wants to drink something when she's here, but calorie-conscious for me, in case she doesn't and I have the "hardship" of drinking it myself.
14. Out of steam, already carrying two heavy arm loads of bags, forgo stopping at PetValu to pick up the canned food I ordered and that was in today.
15. Bus home, in the house, finally and mercifully, at 2PM. More unpacking. There might already have been some sampling of alcohol involved in the process. As well as a very late lunch!
16. Still to do: Cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming upstairs, and making up the guest bed (futon). Some of that will get done later...much later...but most will get done tomorrow morning.
This is how my staycations tend to go. More work than when I'm actually at work! Alas, it's too late in the day for a nap!

Before Chuck retired it seemed our weekends were consumed with errands.
