The Words of our Lives
Yesterday I read a post over at Layla Morgan Wilde's blog, Boomer Muse, on loving every #^&* word of your life.
"What if we loved every fucking word of our life right now? Wretched. Shitty. Tiresome. Depressing.
"Okay.
"Confusing, overwhelming, nasty, scary.
"Fine.
"Heart-opening, tiny joy. Awe-inspiring wondrous. Soul-nourishing. Quixotic. Awful to awesome."
I can't tell you how much this resonated with me. All sorts of negative words came to mind: Miserable, depressing, stuck, tiring, boring, lonely, frustrating, angry, angry, angry, ANGRY, screaming, hair-pulling...and on and on.
And then I started to laugh and other words came to mind: absurd, silly, ridiculous, crazy, joyous.
What else can you do but laugh at how truly ridiculous life is?
I was talking with Mom yesterday afternoon...She'd been to get a haircut and a man the stylist knew well came in to get his hair cut. He has lung cancer from working with asbestos all his life, was diagnosed last week, and was given two weeks to live. No joke. I guess he wanted to look good for his funeral.
It puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

Update on my step-dad: He's still waiting for surgery (hip), Mom thinks it could be today. I hope so, poor man has been lying in that hospital bed for a few days now, waiting.
Update on the fleas: Yep, still there, more's the pity. It's not life and death, though, is it? It might impact my stress/frustration levels and mental health, but it's not quite the same as being told you have only two weeks to live.
I made the decision to enjoy the two days off work (yesterday and today) as much as possible. I went back down to Lake Ontario Park yesterday morning and had a good walk, minus the midge flies, which mercifully are over and done with for another year. Saw lots of ducks, of course, but here are a few other pics, not ducks. :-)
Maisey, the Newfoundland dog. She's 4.5 years old.
You could put a pony saddle on her and give rides to young children, she's so big.
This cat was grazing on the tall grass at the side of the driveway.
And this friendly little one was unattended, though the door to his/her house was open, so presumably someone was keeping an eye out (I hope). No one came out to talk to me, however, even though I was there for about 10 minutes.
S/he seemed to be just getting used to the harness--at least the human has some common sense not to let the little one loose--they're right on the street.
So I had a good morning out, and will head out again in a little while, to run errands and maybe take more pics somewhere, depending on where I end up.I hope you're all able to make the best of the day too, no matter what your circumstances.
Peace.

Two weeks to live. How unutterably awful. How would I provide for my cats in two weeks??
I like what Abby said above about "nuisance noise" I must remind myself of that. Iike it.
I hope Harry gets his surgery soon. The fleas have to be getting old enough to go to camp or activities by now. Or to start sleeping in and quit being so noisy.
Have a wonderful weekend! I hear the weather is getting warmer for you.
Glad you had a nice morning out. You needed to recharge your batteries!
I hope Harry has had his surgery.
I hope you are having a great weekend. Take care.

Yes, it's getting warmer! I admit I like the high teens to low twenties Celsius, though, don't want it warmer. LOL. Don't want it colder, either, though! :-)
