Absolutely stunned at the death of Chris Hyndman
I've only just learned that Chris Hyndman, one half of Steven & Chris, was found dead last night, in a walk-way between two buildings in Toronto's east end, near their residence, I believe. He was 49. No cause of death is being released, though the investigation apparently is "open."
I don't even have words. I'm absolutely stunned, it's beyond comprehension to me.
I've watched Steven & Chris since the first season, it's been part of my morning weekday routine: coffee and the Steven & Chris rerun from the day before, before getting ready for work. Prior to their current program, I used to see them on a makeover show that ran on another network. Almost everything practical I know, I've learned from watching them.
I loved their show, loved watching them, their chemistry, their senses of humour, their obvious great respect and regard for each other.
Chris and Steven had been a couple for 25+ years, I can't even imagine Steven's state of mind and heart right now.
I so hope it was an undiagnosed medical issue, not suicide. The police have said they will not make any details public unless it becomes a criminal investigation. But many, many thousands of people, those who met them in person and those who only "met" them through their shows, are heartbroken and in need of an explanation.
I'm just completely at a loss and in tears, crying so hard I'm going to make myself sick.
My thoughts and prayers are with Steven, their families, friends and co-workers.

His laughter was infectious, a sheer delight.
Godspeed, Chris. You will be deeply, deeply missed.
