Funny, how we can "reason" ourselves into just about anything

In this case, it's a purchase (read credit card charge) from Costco.ca that I don't need, but that I "reasoned" myself into.

For someone who didn't have a smart phone until June, I'm certainly going all out now. Mind you, it's not like I spent a lot of money, as you can see. It's a low-end Android tablet that actually was delivered in less than two days, in spite of the 3- 7 business day delivery estimate.

My "reasoning" was that since my laptop is 4 - 5 years old and often freezes on me, but since I use it only for photo editing, email and blogging, it would be cheaper in the long run to "invest" in a little tablet as a bridge between the small size of the phone and the larger size of a new laptop. To say nothing of the fact that a good new laptop will run me in the $900+ range (no point in paying for a crappy one).

There's no logic to charging something I can't pay for, but I do have 90 days to return it to our local Costco. And sometimes, to be quite honest, I get so tired and frustrated that everything I seem to buy is for the cats. Air purifiers, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, water fountains...to say nothing of all the cat toys, stands, scratchers and oh, yeah, the endless vet bills. Sometimes I just want something fun for me.

So I'm going to bring my old laptop into the campus repair shop, because for $25 they will look at it and take care of any non-hardware issue that is contributing to its slow speed and freezing.

I figure that, at least, is worth the money!
