Wordless on a Wednesday? Not me.

When am I ever wordless or even succinct?

Yes, the new "toy" is fun to have. I had to order a case for it, though (via Amazon.ca this time), so add on another $20 to the cost.

The "fleas" did come home on Monday sometime; yay, me.

I bought slippery elm capsules yesterday for Nicki, as it's well known to soothe all sorts of tummy and intestinal upsets in cats. I thought I'd give it a try, as I believe it's he who still is throwing up blood/bile with the grass. I discovered, though, that you really can't make the syrup out of the powder in those capsules, so I'm just mixing a bit of it in with Nicki's canned food. Maybe after payday I'll pop downtown to the natural health foods store; they probably carry slippery elm bark in bulk, which is what I'd need to boil it up for the syrup.

I keep thinking Nicki looks thinner and thinner, and when I weighed him last week I had him as having lost 0.8 pounds within a two-week period (since his vet check). I re-weighed him right away and his weight was the same as at the vet clinic! So my own scale is not reliable, and apparently I'm too paranoid and emotionally unstable for pet parenthood. He seems outwardly fine, as far as input, output and activity level go. ::Shrug::

Maybe Nicki's telling me to just chill.

This Friday we have a mid-afternoon-into-the-evening work function, a BBQ at my "old" boss's place. I wonder if he purposely scheduled it for this week, as the "big" boss is off on vacation to some luxury resort in the Dominican Republic.

This Friday also is our summer student's last day, though we hope to bring him back through the school year from time to time, as needed. He's such a cutie. Very clean cut, into being healthy, is 21 going on 40. I really don't want to see him go, he's been a tremendous help to us, and personally to me with all my pestering, first with the second-hand smart phone I bought in June and now the tablet. Hey, maybe he could fast-track his Masters degree and come back as our director, when our "old" boss retires.  :-)

That's about it to mid-week. I hope for an uneventful, healthy, peaceful rest-of-week, and weekend too.

Peace.

Morning clouds yesterday

Nicki looks like he is having the last laugh in that photo, so sweet.
Sorry about the 'fleas'.
Well I can tell Sept is almost here, there will be a Cat1 hurricane off my coast in a few days. I pray it is OFF the Coast, way off and causes no problems. Always something to worry over.

Sorry to hear the fleas have returned. :(

It's hard to believe the summer is coming to a close. I hope you have fun at the BBQ.

Glad Nicki is holding his weight. As far as being paranoid about your cats ... you are not alone, because we are the same way. :)

Hugs!

Wouldn't it be nice to have a day just to stare at the clouds? To have a day when you didn't feel that there was something you should be doing instead of staring at clouds?

Hi Kim, glad you are enjoying your tablet. I am typing this on mine!
Nicki seemed very fine when we were there. I understand fully you worrying about both of the boys. It is just natural. You are NOT too emotionally unstable for pet parenthood.
Cooler here at night so we know summer is coming to a close here.
At least the weather is supposed to be nice on Friday for you BBQ at your old boss's home.
Take care and talk soon.

It's nice to know I'm not the only paranoid and emotionally unstable one. Ha.

I'd be paranoid about hurricane season, living along coastal Florida (or anywhere along the Eastern seaboard). Fingers (and paws) crossed it does track WAY off over the water.

I'm not sure "fun" will be what we have at the bbq. I figure that since I went to the big boss's Christmas thing last year (on a weekend night) and now I'm going to this, that I'm off the hook for any after-hours holiday get-together *this* year.

And I couldn't help but wonder if my old boss planned this BBQ knowing the big boss would be on vacation and out of the country!

Yes, actually it would. And before I'm in my dotage. :-)

Nicki and Derry were both tearing around the house like crazy kitties this morning. Probably the fall-ish temps. :-)

I'm leaving food out for Nicki to eat again, trying to fatten him up. LOL.
I think all of us cat moms are a little too paranoid and emotionally unstable for pet parenthood. Hahaha!
