50 Questions to Foster Gratitude

I read this article on TinyBuddha at lunch time:

http://tinybuddha.com/blog/50-questions-to-foster-gratitude-and-feel-good-about-life/

Not all the questions are ones I can answer, but I think it's a good list to work on.

1. What’s one kind or thoughtful thing someone did for you recently?

A friend recently sent me a lovely little card, with "feel better" wishes.

How about you? What's one kind or thoughtful thing that someone has done for you recently?

Peace.

Kim, Thanks. It is hard to pick one thing. We are blessed with fantastic people in our life. You, coming all the way to see us and sharing a day off with us.
A neighbour taking our leaves to the composting facility for us so they don't have to sit piled up beside the house.
Wonderful post Kim.

That was really nice of your neighbour! You must have a municipal pick up day, though (for those people who don't have kind neighbours).

Have a good evening!

We do have a pick-up but not until the end of November. I don't know why the city waits so long. One year it wasn't until early December and the workers had to pry the bags out of snowbanks!
Have a good evening too!
Oh wow there are tons of things lately (I am lucky)....the wonderful comments on our blogoversary post today are one and my husband totally outdid himself in reference to my 60th birthday celebration last week. There were so many in the past week that I am truly blessed.

I had to work until 3 am the other night and Scott left the night light on in the bedroom so I didn't have to stumble around in the dark.

I was so tickled!
Angel's mom gave our mom the extra mini ipad she has as a thank you for all our mom does for her. Mom almost started to cry.

Caren, that's wonderful! And I'm glad your hubby "outdid" himself re: your birthday, you deserve it!

That was sweet and very helpful!

I have night lights in every room of the house except my bedroom. Helps when I have to get up in the night or go downstairs to check on something (that's rare). I swear my living area is light up brighter than a landing strip. LOL.

Oh, what was so lovely of her to do! I'd cry! I hope your mom enjoys the iPad!

That's a tough one for me, I really can't think of anything specific that happened recently. Probably the most recent was when my son got up on the roof and cleaned out the gutters a few weeks ago. I truly appreciated it, because I'm terrified of heights!

A friend went with me today to the first meeting of a new group that I have joined. She knows that I am shy and so stayed with me and introduced me to many of the people there that she knew. So nice not to have to navigate a new situation alone.

I think that was awesome! I'm not good with heights, either, so I understand your appreciation!

Oh, that's wonderful! I'm not good at all, going into an unknown and/or large group (it's one of my biggest stressors), so that was a very thoughtful and kind thing your friend did!

As you know I just lose my dad, understanding is the thing I need @ this time. My husband gives me all support & Puddy always remind me a present not lose in the space by asking me for food :)

I made a comment on a friend's blog that I read a lot as a child but never had any poetry books so a few days later I received a book of poetry in the mail! I was so surprised that she would do that for me that my eyes started leaking! The book is 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' by T.S. Eliot and it's just so enchanting and delightful!

Someone offered to help me move, if and when I sell my house. I would have preferred that they offer to buy the white elephant that my house has now become, but offering to help move was the next best thing.

Work has been tough/stressful lately, and Tracey took a few minutes out of her busy day today, just to call and check on me. :)

I'm glad you have your husband, and Mr Puddy too! Lots of hugs and purrs from us.

What a lovely and kind thing to do! I'll bet that made your day. :-)

Fingers and paws crossed your "white elephant" sells. I both want to unload mine and dread trying to do so, since so much needs to be done...and the basement still leaks! Good luck; I hope you get to take your friend up on the offer!

That was sweet, Kevin. I'm sorry work has been so stressful for you. We all have to pay our bills, but oh boy....! I just learned that someone in our office suite (another dept) who retired last winter now is battling breast cancer. I think the prognosis is good for her, but even so...not how she imagined her retirement. Makes me question our whole societal set-up: work, work, work like it's the be all and end all...then you retire and get sick and/or die. Crazy.
