Wordy Wednesday
No "wordless" for me today.
First, new argyle socks!
First, new argyle socks!
Second, Mom has moved (via a moving company) and thanks to a good friend as well as Harry's daughter, she's unpacked and (mostly?) settled too. Lots still to do, but her things are put away, her furniture in order. She feels good about the place, says that because of the layout it's more like a house than an apartment. I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself, when I make a short trip east at the end of the month.
Third, we had another magnificent day, about 20C I think, which is NOT typical for our region. I made a point of going out at lunch time and soaking it in. I'm not thinking of the coming dreadful winter; rather, I'm thinking that we're one day closer to Spring. Remind me of that, please, when we have our first blizzard!
Sunrise a couple of days ago, while waiting for the bus.
Fourth, I wasn't quick enough to save a poor little mouse from Nicki this afternoon after work. I usually can rescue them, but today when I got home and let the boys out I just thought they were watching a squirrel or smelling a squirrel that had been in the back space earlier in the day (so I assumed). Unfortunately, it was a cute little mouse that was being batted around. When I realized what was going on I rushed out and rescued it, but it wasn't moving. I put it outside, away from my unit and in a sheltered spot, but it barely even moved. I stood there, feeling awful, and said a prayer for it, that it pass quickly and mercifully. There wasn't any blood and it looked intact...maybe it was just stunned? I don't know. Poor little thing. I don't blame Nicki, because he was just doing what cats do, but I felt (and feel) so badly for the critter. Goddess bless, little one.
Fifth, a thank you to "Cat Guy," whose thoughtful comment on my Question #3 post gave me much to mull over.
Sixth, our 23rd Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and his cabinet were sworn in today. I hope for genuine change and improvement, but absolutely don't expect it. Politicians are politicians, after all. Still, it's NICE to see so many new faces, younger faces. I think that to bring about any change, if that's even possible, he does need to (by and large) get rid of the old guard. I'm not sure how long the "honeymoon" will last, though I'd bet it'll wear off in the not-too-distant future.
I think this has been wordy enough now. If anyone actually read it through, give yourself a pat on the back. LOL.
I'll leave you with a bit of inspiration from TinyBuddha.com:
Peace.

LOVE the socks and they look far better than I thought they would. What do you think of them?
Love the sunrise picture and look forward to many more pics as you come and go.
This is Carole and Katie Bella but I forgot to sign out over there.
That was my third pair of Dr. Segal's socks and I like them, think they were worth the money. I wear them at work, but not otherwise. They do compress my wide feet too, so I prefer to walk wearing my regular socks.
Nuff said.
The socks are great.
Glad to hear your Mom got settled!
20C - not fair. We had 6 C last night (but felt like 2deg). Enjoy it while it lasts.

Love those socks! :)
I'm glad Mom's settling in, though I wonder if, after the dust has settled, she'll have some unresolved emotions to deal with. Well, if so, that's for her to work through! I'm looking forward to seeing the place though--and taking pics, which my mom doesn't do.
Glad your Mum is just about settled into her new home.
Wasn't yesterday gorgeous? The robin's were singing, ladybugs were everywhere and the kitties next door were out for most of the day so we could visit with them.
It's still supposed to be warm for the next couple days so we will enjoy it while it lasts.
Take care.
And I think it's good to change politicians now and then. Even if Trudeau disappoints, he will provide some differences. And my boss is a rabid Conservative, the kind who votes first and asks questions later, so I was glad to see the Liberals win for that reason alone...
Yes, lots of ladybugs here too! The only "bug" I like. Lol.
Take care!
Oh, and I like the socks too, the colours are fun!
