Flexing

Have I mentioned that I love the FlexBrew coffee maker Mom gave me for Christmas?  :-)

Coffee in moments, not endless minutes. That's especially important at 4 AM!

An afternoon chai latté. (Possibly with a small piece of carrot cake to accompany it.)

Heaven.

How does it get better than this?  :-)

Anyway, we're freezing our butts, furry or otherwise today. Windchill is minus 14C. Okay, it was plus 16 or so on Christmas Eve. That's a huge drop in only a couple of days. We're also bracing for our first taste of winter, with snow here slated to be in the 15 - 20 cms range overnight and into tomorrow. I ran errands this morning, including watering my plants at the office, in case I end up hunkered down at home for the next couple of days.

I had thought to go somewhere this morning to take a few pics with the little Nikon, but it was just too cold. All I wanted to do was go from bus to store to coffee shop (okay, it was McDonald's for a latté) and then get the heck home.

I have a few moon pics, though.

Below, the moon early on Christmas Day. Ignore the wrong date on the pic properties--I snapped this with the Fuji, because it takes great hand-held moon pics for a point & shoot, but I'd had the batteries out since the summer and never thought to reset the date and time.

Then the moon on Boxing Day morning, as I was heading to catch a bus. You can just barely see her above the roof top. Snapped with the Nikon.
Then the waning moon this morning, as I was walking to the Centre to catch a bus. (Why do I feel I need exercise on the bitterly cold days?) Also with the Nikon, which at 20 x zoom is not nearly as good as the 30x Fuji.
Take care, everyone. If you're in the storm's path, hunker down tomorrow and stay off the roads, stay safe.

Peace.

Oh, Kea. I love these moon photos! I have a deep love for the moon. This was a special full moon Christmas, too. The last time this occurred was in 1977. I remember, too. Yeah, my age is showing. But, I don't mind.

Hi Kim, we certainly just froze our buts off! We went for our before- supper walk, and man was it cold!
Your moon shots are just great. You must have froze your hands taking photos this morning.
Glad you are enjoying your new coffeemaker.
Take care.

Glad you are enjoying your coffeemaker! When the Keurig first came out I was so thrilled with it! So I understand. Love the moon photos.
What a terrific gift! Stay warm.
Cuddling down during the stormy weather sounds like a great plan =)
The moon photos are good...I especially like the first one. Great details.
Ear scritches to the felines =)

Although we had cold weather for Christmas Eve and day, it's warmer now at -12C, but we didn't get any snow. I hope you don't get 20 cm of snow or more...that's an awful lot at once. If it does, enjoy your hunkering down with the coffee machine, and Nicki and Derry too!

That's purrfect gift ! ... Did I ever mention my mom full name means " Full Moon " ?
Boom is a nickname, her full name is " Nisanart " cause she was born in full moon. Daddy said " Crazy ! " me guess that's why she is crazy cat lady....tee...heh

PS : Very nice pictures of full moon.

That really is an awesome gift. Your moon shots are wonderful! I love them. That third one could almost be a Halloween picture.

Stay warm! We are seeing really bad weather all over. We haven't experienced any yet thankfully. Just rain.
Beautiful shots.. and How does it get any better than this?
:P

I'm old enough to remember the last full moon at Christmas; I was 13. I don't remember, though. LOL.

I took only two quick snaps of the moon, it was too cold for anything else!

So far my favourite coffee is a "toasted southern pecan." Smooth. Really nice. :-)

I ended up heading out today (Dec 29) for a few hours anyway. Fine on the bus, and great for shopping -- no one was around. LOL.

We didn't get 20 cms, not sure how much we got, but it's been mixed with sleet and freezing rain. Messy. Glad I don't drive! Buses were (surprisingly) running on time!

LOL! I think the meaning of your mom's name is lovely!

We got hit, as did the entire region. We're still having light freezing rain, supposedly into tomorrow. I'm so done with winter!

I don't know, Laurie, how DOES it get any better than this? :-D

We'll see how this goes!

Thanks! I didn't take up coffee-drinking until my very late 30s or maybe 40, and now it's an addiction I just don't want to give up. Probably the worst habit I've developed. LOL. But it's sooooo good...as long as I have (lite) coffee cream. :-)
