Sunday Morning Random Musings
8AM and I'm still in my jammies. Can't believe it. I have to head out around 10AM to mail Mom's birthday and Christmas box, as well as my holiday cards--finally got that all done yesterday evening.
I was out the door yesterday at 7AM, up to WalMart for stocking up (litter, other heavy stuff), cabbed it home around 8:30, then was out again at 9AM for various errands: Costco (quick in and out for prescription pick up), Henry's Camera (way too much money spent on things needed for the new Nikon, thus eliminating the 48% savings on the camera), Michaels (crafts), Jysk (nicely renovated, still crap merchandise), Dollarama, PetSmart and finally, Farm Boy for a few groceries.
I gave up after that. Six hours of running around, then house stuff that had to be done that took the rest of the afternoon and evening, including the wrapping and boxing of Mom's stuff, the cards, etc.
Thankfully, I do not have that kind of "to do" list today!
Not the nicest sale floral item at Michaels yesterday, but the price was too good (60% off) to pass up. Because gee, I gave away all my holiday floral stuff in one of the previous donation runs. Duh.
Nicki's being a champ about all the meds he's getting right now. He's down to every-other-day for the Pred, almost off that, and is getting the Clavamox twice a day. I'm giving him FortiFlora to compensate, but I think it must make him feel a bit gross all the same. You can tell that he doesn't feel great afterward. He's still snotty sneezing a bit, but not too much.
I'm practicing with the new camera. The flash indoors is making some pics too yellow and I've had to adjust the colour afterward. I'm sure I can adjust the camera settings...somewhere...just need to hunt through the 180-page manual. I will be satisfied if this p&s ends up being comparable to my old Canon PowerShot S3 IS (still a good little camera, just not pocket-size). The piece-of-crap Elph is stored away upstairs, at least for the time being.
My little tree, decorated at last.
I'm doing a happy dance that I have only 13 more working days before our Christmas break. (We're all taking the morning of the 24th off as vacation and the university closes at noon anyway.) I have my fingers crossed that the...people...next door pack up and head to Grandma's on Christmas morning, for the duration of the break. They have in the past, though that doesn't mean they will this year. I live in hope. :-P
No matter, I fully intend to enjoy every day I have away from the cube and from all the politics and general nonsense. If the weather continues to be mild, maybe I'll have a chance to go somewhere and take some snapshots with the new "toy!"
Anyway, I'll wish everyone a good day, whatever you're doing. If you're in crisis now, please know I'm sending universal Light and Love. It's hard to remember, but "this too shall pass."

This might be my second comment as my &%$#@ iPad was refusing to work after I wrote the comment. Please feel free to delete one!
Poor Nicki! I feel so bad for him. Hope he continues to improve.
Love your Christmas decorations. Very pretty.
How much time do you have off at Christmas? In years gone by Chuck always took a few weeks off at Christmas. Last year he was working on contract so only had two days off. We are enjoying all the time off this year!
Enjoy your day and talk soon.
You had me tired after the first paragraph! MOL
Hope you enjoy today and get some much needed rest.
But I get the whole if you don't do it then it doesn't get done.Finding that out myself.
Nikki looks good. I hope he continues to improve so he can enjoy playing with the tree!
I sure like your tree. Christmas trees to me are like the smells of dinner cooking: everyone's seems better than mine!
We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed for you for a quiet, neighbor-free break!
Hugs to you, Derry and Nicki!
I used to have a cute 6-foot one, but I don't need that and I got a great deal on this one at Target when they were here.
Well, it's cheaper to run around via bus and the occasional taxi than it is to own a vehicle! Mind you, a car of my own would be far, far more convenient. I'm sure that I could have done in 2 hours what took me the 6.
