Contact!

Most of you know from FB that I had actual human contact with one of the new neighbours yesterday after work.

When I had let the boys out into the back space, I saw two women, one middle-aged and one older, out on their deck. I went about my business inside, but noticed both Nicki and Derry sitting on the step, staring their way. Then I saw (and faintly heard) Nicki start talking to or at them (or at least in their direction). Trust Nicki to point out that there were new people next door and to make his presence known.  :-)

Anyway, I went to the patio door, saw that the middle-aged woman was looking over, so stepped outside and said hi, that it was just me and the two cats in the house and that I hoped the boys wouldn't be a disturbance. I added that Nicki was the talker and that both of them would run through the house sometimes and that they (the new neighbours) would hear them. She replied no, no disturbance, that she has two cats of her own, both indoor. (I had asked indoor/outdoor, thinking if outdoor there might be a problem with my two).

No exchanges of names, and while I did tell her Nicki's and Derry's names, she wasn't inclined to reciprocate and tell me anything about her cats. They went off into the house and I went off into mine and that was that.

THANK YOU, GODDESS! THANK YOU, UNIVERSE!

Unobtrusive, quiet people who say hi/wave and keep their distance would be fantastic. A miracle. One I still can't quite believe in. Will there be a huge house warming party this weekend, complete with pounding music? Beats me. When I was chatting with Mom later in the evening, I said that I don't care how many people live there (I've seen or caught glimpses of four adults now), as long as they stay on their meds and keep quiet, I'm happy.  :-P

Peace.

I hope that they turn into the neighbors you deserve to have!
I am sure all will be fine, the majority of my comments are on facebook :) I wouldn't overthink it, just "be" xoxo

So glad everything is quiet.
I kicked myself for not bringing the camera this morning on our walk. The sun coming up was gorgeous. Love your evening sky photos!

What a relief to have quiet neighbours. I can't imagine the chatty cat Nicki would disturb them at all if they are used to cats.

The evening skies are so pretty. Have a great long weekend!

So far, much better than the Fleas. Paws crossed that they stay that way. God bless quiet people.

When I lived back home with my mom the last set of neighbors before I moved were the absolute worst!! Worse than your old ones, in fact. like I said, I moved. But my mom stayed and the next neighbor she got was fantastic!! A single gentlemen, he was nice, helped my mom with trimming plants once or twice and just very friendly. I moved to Florida and had great neighbors there as well. Never have had anyone even close to as rotten as those old neighbors were. I feel that it is God's way of making it up to me for the bad neighbors. So I think maybe you are safe from now on as well!!
