"It's a nice day for a white wedding"
I had taken a half-day vacation yesterday to do a few errands, so I was able to free up some time today to take my camera down to one of the waterfront parks. (Those few extra hours off work make a huge difference!)
Turns out "it's a nice day for a white wedding."
There were white chairs set up and a few people sitting down, but not too much activity at that point. If it hadn't been so hot, I could have hung around up on the hill and waited for the bride and groom to show up. :-)
Sometimes you get a little unexpected bonus when you download your pics. I was so focused on the mom duck and her babies that I completely missed the snake on the rock in the foreground, until I started to edit the snapshots.
It was (is) stinkin' hot! After our delayed and very cold "spring," we're suddenly sweltering in the heat and humidity. There wasn't much of a breeze by the water, either, though I enjoyed the walk just the same. As always, I took a zillion duck pics. I don't know what it is about me and ducks. I took half a zillion of the chipmunks. The first one I posted (pic 4) looked like a youngster; s/he was so tiny! You can't tell in the snapshot. New crop, is what crossed my mind. :-)
As for things at home, I'll leave you with several pics of the boys: the first three from yesterday, the final two from today.
Everything is coming along nicely now, in the little back space.

It's good to see the boys out sunning themselves. How they do it with fur coats on, I don't know.

We've had rain all week so it's nice to see the sunshine today. Thankfully it's not too hot, just a lovely early summer day.

No, I don't know how the boys stand to bake themselves in the heat, with the fur. Granted, they usually move to shade pretty quickly!
They were so slow to start, and then bam! They're up and big. The boys love them, especially Nicki -- great spot to hide.
Thankfully the oppressive heat and humidity has passed...for the moment!
