New (four-legged) friends
Friends Robin and Chuck came up this weekend, he to work on my baseboard trim. (I know I've said it many times already, but I'm so lucky and so thankful to have met them, and I'd feel that way even without all their help.)
What a delight to have baseboards, and not just any slapped on, poorly done baseboards, but nice trim! It was worth all the mess and cleaning. :-)
All that's left is the kitchen (which means two or three small pieces) and the basement landing (two small pieces). But I do need to pick up a few more lengths of trim to finish. I thought what I got with Dad would be more than enough, but not quite.
Anyway, we took an early Sunday morning walk, when all was quiet, and made some new four-legged friends.
This is George, whom I'd met within the past few weeks while on the way home from work. Quite elderly, a bit senile, very friendly. He didn't hesitate to run to Robin for attention. He also still had enough energy to run to the tree and jump part way up the trunk, come down, then run to and up the next one.
Two more "friends," who obviously know and like each other. And then this tuxie, who didn't like either of the two, and vice versa.
So it was a busy and enjoyable weekend, and I hope over-worked Chuck isn't in too much pain today from all his efforts.
We have our Canada Day holiday this Friday, so it'll be a long weekend; maybe I'll get the trim painted. (Or not.)
Peace.

Yes, it's good to have friends who are handy and know what they are doing around a house. I could do a lot of the work, I just couldn't do it well.
Although it is nice to see the photos of the cats, it makes me a little sad to see them outdoors where they are faced with so many potential hazards.
Have a great week...just think after tomorrow the work week will be half finished!
Your new furry friends are all beautiful.
It's the putting back together that's the difficulty!
