This fellow made my morning
Yesterday morning I got off the bus early, took a different route in to the office. It was well worth the change-up, as I saw this fellow looking for breakfast:
He was unconcerned that I was standing there below him, snapping pics. In fact, I snapped 39 but saved only 4; the rest were too blurry. I can count on one hand all the times I've managed to get a snapshot of a pileated woodpecker, so he made my morning. :-)
Sometimes the detours in life lead to the most wonderful surprises!
As this is post #1601, I wanted to add a thank you to those who both read and/or comment on this blog and have done so for years. I've never been able to fathom why, given it really is musings on a small life, but I certainly appreciate it--and you!
Have a lovely day, and peace to all.

We read and comment because we enjoy reading about your life. You are a great writer. Having two cute boys helps too. ;)
Take care and looking forward to seeing you next week!
we all are.... as da tabbies say...
large & in charge
each in our own way, to probably more people, than each of us think ♥♥♥
& speaking of the tabbies, I dare not show them this post; or tell them I've seen a blue bird at the bathe twice in as many weeks; a rarity around here anymore ! he's done a number on that tree, that's for sure ☺☺☺
Congrats on post 1601 =)
Nina, Mindy & Mike
PS It's been a while since we've seen one of those.
Love the woodpecker pic! I've never seen a Pileated woodpecker. We generally get the red bellied ones around here.
No, don't show your crew the bird pics. Ha!
Nothing wrong with having a small life. We're definitely all part of a bigger cosmic thing, and we're glad our part and ours are connected. :)
