Root Canal Appointment #1

I'm just home from that. It wasn't as long or as horrendous as I imagined, but I do need to go back for a second appointment -- too much infection to seal the roots permanently. He cleaned everything out, injected the roots with whatever (presume some sort of antibiotic) and put a temporary filling in. He'll finish (I hope) on November 29th.

I might not even need another half-Ativan the next time.

The plus in this is that he did not shatter the crown, so I won't need a replacement for that. Whew.

On a different note, I had a lovely Sunday walk yesterday, at Lake Ontario Park, took a slew of snapshots that I'll get to later this week.

A couple of "teasers":

No worries, this fellow's "mom" was at water's edge, they walk like this all the time.
Another sweetie out for a walk with his human mom.
Peace.

Seeing the cats made my day!

As for the root canal...2+ hours later and I'm still frozen solid. He gave me three shots of whatever it is (do they still use novacaine?). I'll be drinking soup through a straw for supper tonight!

Yes, such fun! I think if I remember correctly I slurped up a large bowl of yogurt for my supper when I had it done.
Glad that root canal went well, not that they aren't scary enough. Cute kitties!

Glad it wasn't as bad as you imagined! Your jaw may be sore once the good stuff wears off since it had to be opened so long but hopefully you won't experience any effects from the root canal. The kitties are very cute and how wonderful they get to go out for walks!

I'm very pleased to read that the surgery went so well. It sounds like the doctor knew what he was doing, which is always a bonus - and not always guaranteed. I think things have improved in dental work since the horrid old days - you know, the 1980s and '90s. The breakthroughs do eventually filter down to us ordinary people. Good job!
