That pained me

Usually I'm great with decluttering, I'm ruthless, no sentiment and no regret. But I confess I was pained by going through my closet this afternoon and ditching the pieces that have nothing to coordinate with or that I really like but don't quite fit over my expanding middle-aged tummy. I had gone through my closet in September/October, but with the recent Value Village purchases the clothes needed to be culled again.

It was hard, but I prevailed. And I took the opportunity to organize everything by coordinated outfit grouping. So all the tops that go with such-and-such a cardigan or blazer, for example, are together, by colour group. I hope to make it a bit easier to put an outfit together at 5AM. (Only very rarely do I decide what I'll wear the night before, I'm just not that organized.)

This was little Piper, in for her booster shots on Wednesday, when I took Nicki for his anal glands.  The poor thing was so scared she was trembling.
The weekend otherwise was the usual errands and house work, nothing out of the ordinary. As for the week ahead: the chairs I ordered are supposed to arrive on Monday, Tuesday I have root canal part 2, and Wednesday the Ikea TV bench is slated to show up (maybe). I'll need to call for a donation pick up soon.

Nicki enjoying the sunshine this afternoon.
I hope you have a good week ahead, filled with all that you need and much of what you want. Take time to nurture your Self, especially at this crazy, pressure-filled time of year.

Derry this afternoon. Yes, the snow is gone (except for snowbanks).
Peace.

Hi Kim, poor Piper! She does look terribly frightened.
An up and down week for you coming up. I will be thinking about you on Tuesday.
Glad the boys could enjoy some time outside and in the sun. It was lovely to see the sun after so many dreary days.
Take care!

Poor little Piper! What a sweet face! Love seeing Derry's sweet face too! Glad Nicki got to enjoy the outside from the warm inside! I need to go through the closet too but haven't been in the mood. We have a pile of stuff that need to be donated already so I'll get it done before the end of the year. Hope your week goes week well with deliveries on time and everything going smoothly for root canal #2.

Piper didn't get a good experience, did she ? Poor thing.
Great to see Nicki & Derry enjoyed themselves =^x^=
For 16 years, mom didn't live in Bangkok. She still got no ideas where she can donate the clothes. Mom doesn't has lots of clothes anyway so the old one will turn to be the rag.

This week, mom is pretty happy because she found TV. series to watch. ' Medici Masters of Florence ( 2016 )' last night, she watched the first episode. and she do love it.

I hope you and your fameowly have a fantastic week !
=^x^=

I need to cull more clothes and wish I had your discipline. I did clean out a couple of small drawers today, but need to tackle more. In fact I am going to get off my butt right now and throw out a couple of tops that are worn out right away.

Thanks for thinking of me on Tuesday, Robin. I have no expectations going in that this will be the second and final appointment, but I surely hope so.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be giving the Salvation Army a call as soon as I get the new chairs together (if they arrive in proper, good condition) and can get rid of the old ones. My garage always is a disaster, it seems, with stuff awaiting pick-up and other stuff for the junk man.

Your mom is smart, not to have too many clothes! Here because we have 4 seasons, we need all kinds of layers--winter sweaters, jackets, light stuff for summer, etc. Plus there are work clothes and home clothes...it can get out of hand. :-D

Thank you, to you as well!

LOL. It WAS hard this time! Lots of nice stuff that I like but just know won't be wearing again, or at least not any time soon. Good luck going through your own closet!

I have no sense of fashion - though I'm certainly good at criticizing others! Seriously, though, I try to wear something presentable and just hope it looks all right.

Your week looks to be full. Keep us apprised, especially of the dental works. Are you taking just Tuesday off?

Good luck with the dental work. (Have I said how much I fear and loathe dentists...for their needles and the price of their services both!)

Poor little Piper and cute photos of Nicki and Derry. Hope the snow stays away for awhile. We're supposed to get some tonight.

Clothed is good, especially at my age and with my flabby body. Haha!

Thanks for sending good luck. I survived, and now I'll see if I end in dental agony again. (Please, Universe, NO!)
