I lost the bet

I wrote yesterday that I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that Canon US wouldn't respond to my spam issue, but they did! Nothing they can do at their end, of course--she referred me to Google. I didn't think they could do anything, but I'm impressed they responded at all.

So, that should teach me not to write off customer service from big business. (From Telus, yes. But that's another story. LOL.)

I got home yesterday to find all the donation items removed. Hurrah! They had taken the sign off my garage and stuffed it into my mailbox, and scrunched up the tarps behind my deck box on the step, to keep them safe from the wind.

That's two down (the donations) and one to go (the junk pick up).

I feel particularly good about having donated the tools to Habitat for Humanity, though. Right decision.

I might take a gander through the house for any small items I can dispose of at this time, as I have an aunt visiting (for the first time in years, we're reconnecting) in February. With her car. So I could make a donation drop off somewhere if I'm ready. (Otherwise it'll be a stock-up weekend--a big Costco run plus lots of litter.)

We're bracing for a nasty afternoon of freezing rain, which already has started west of us. I brought my ice-grip things for my boots, anticipating a challenge in getting home. No, the university never closes. We could be in the middle of an apocalypse and the university wouldn't close.

That's about it. Everyone be well and stay safe. (Comments are off, I just felt like doing a quick post.)

Peace.
