Off to the annual cat show!
On Sunday I went to the annual cat show held at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour (on all weekend). I think it had been 5 or 6 years since I'd gone, though I can't quite recall. It looked pretty much the same, though the one judge I really liked wasn't there, not sure if he retired, was elsewhere or whether something has happened to him.
Anyway, I watched a couple of rings, and as before, my preference was for the house cats, rather than the purebreds.
I'll apologize in advance for the poor photo quality. I didn't want to use the flash, so had the p&s in sports mode. I deleted most of the pics I took; just too blurry. As always, click to enlarge for better viewing.
The ginger one (second from the left, below) never stopped singing the song of his people. Oy!
I promise I won't complain (too much) about Nicki's vocalizing. LOL.
Yes, you, you had a lot to say. Constantly!
Hard to make her out against the judge's clothing; they blended together so well.
This one (below) was naughty! Pulled her ribbons
off her cage in mere seconds, repeatedly.
The Scottish Fold was quiet and well-behaved. :-)
This one too! Love his/her colouring.
Then I moved down to the house cat judging, came in at the tail end (no pun intended) of that particular ring.
This sweet black one was the judge's 10th of the top ten.
She took 9 of the 10 cats out of their cage (one wasn't having any of that, thank you very much)
and went through them one by one, showing us her selection of top 10.
I didn't get good shots of all 10, but this one, below, was her #1 choice.
This shot (below) looks funny, with the judge holding her nose,
as if the cat was smelly. I assume the camera just caught her
with an itchy nose--probably from having her face in cat fur!
After that, I wandered around for a bit, took a few pics, purchased a few items (of course).as if the cat was smelly. I assume the camera just caught her
with an itchy nose--probably from having her face in cat fur!
There were lots of Bengals, they seem to be pretty popular.
One of the Scottish Fold kittens, below, that had been in the ring earlier.
It was fun to go, though I don't think it's any every year thing for me. However, Nicki and Derry seemed to approve of at least some of the toys I brought back for them. I'll save those snapshots for another post. :-)
Peace.

As long as that cat doesn't look like a moldy "fuzzy loaf of bread". Ha.
Glad the boys enjoyed some their new toys.
Why are there bowls of candy on the tables???
Derry, however, still likes his favourite old feather wand.
Many of them make me giggle =^x^= O.K., Laughing as well..Ha..Ha
Have a good day
It would be fun to see all the kitties, but I'm with you on preferring the household kitties.
Thanks for stopping by!
