We're all doing "easy" this Sunday

In light of a freezing rain warning for our city, which never materialized, I opted to stay at home today and putter around instead of running the roads, as the old saying goes.

Nicki and Derry certainly had no problem with having an "easy" Sunday! (Excuse the usual crappy indoor snapshots.)

 
 
 
 
 
Even I had a desperately-needed nap for a couple of hours.

I also, finally, tackled my linen closet, bathroom cabinet, and under-sink storage, which took longer than I anticipated. I got rid of stuff, reorganized all the remaining items, and I think it will do for now. I'd like to have matching storage baskets, but whatever. (Found an awesome heavy fabric tote with rope handles at Dollarama yesterday, for $4. Should have bought more.)

Foldable, filled with stuff and in the linen closet now.

Hi Kim, looks like everyone had a nice relaxing Sunday. We ended up getting a bit of freezing rain overnight (car was covered in it) that changed to rain around 6ish and then stopped totally by 9ish. We did end up going for a great walk just before lunch.
Love the heavy totes from Dollarama! We are going into Trenton tomorrow, I will have a look at ours.
Glad you were able to nap. Give the boys a snuggle for me!

It doesn't sound like the chores you set yourself were that 'easy'! However, I know the necessity of having to use some 'free' time to work at home. Yesterday, I cleaned the library; instead of the usual light dusting, I removed every book and cleaned the shelves. That took a while but required it. Even when I use the books for research (which is often), they collect dust easily. Every pleasant day is at least breezy in southern Alberta, and that means dust blowing inside. But it needed doing.

The boys certainly look like they took relaxing seriously, and I'm glad to read that you had a nap, as well. It does a person good, I think. In the first photo, the boys look almost symmetrical. Resting up for some fun wrasslin'!

I think that the boys took the relaxing part seriously! I did the same as you, some purging and reorganizing and still not satisfied but I'll work on it a little at a time. I ran my shredder until it quit on me (it's ok, it's just old and testy, once it cooled off it seems to be ok) -- I have about 35 pounds of tax forms, old checks and goodness knows what else that has to be shredded so that is going to Staples. It'll be worth it to pay for it and get done with it. As it is I have one basket of stuff I still have to shred and hopefully that will rid me of many many years of bad 'stuff'.

We got the ice rain this morning, then it changed to plain old rain. We had an easy day too, watched the curling worlds final (which was recorded as it was on at 3 am), did a bit of ironing and cleaning, reading and worked on a new theme fir my website. I think an early bed is coming after all that hard work :)

Robin, those totes came in different colours. There were only two of the one I bought, wish I had bought the other as well! But next time I'm in a Dollarama I'll see what they have.

Kingston is seriously dusty too; I've given up trying to keep the dust down when the windows are open. I'm impressed with YOUR cleaning efforts! Feel free to teleport over and dust in my house. :-)

Wow, that's a lot of shredding! We have a local shredding company that I use for work and have used for home as well--it's through Community Living and provides employment for those with intellectual challenges. They picked up years' worth of shredding from home a few years ago which was great, being without a vehicle. Good luck getting all yours to Staples, careful with the lifting or get someone burly to lug it for you. :-)

Yeah, it was pretty amazing. LOL. Usually I get restless at home and am out for at least a few hours on a Sunday. Glad I had the chance to slow down a bit!

You both make doing the easy look....easy! We were able to get out to our sunny room by noon and stayed out there until after dinner. (Sasha even had his dinner there). It was pawsome!
