And all the rest of it

Besides visiting The Big Apple (see previous post) with Robin last week, we crammed quite a few other things in too!

 Keelers Wharf adjoins private property. Nice location!

Wicklow Beach, located between Brighton and Cobourg. We had it to ourselves, though when Robin was there the previous Sunday with a friend, the place was packed.

 

The water felt so good on my feet! It's been years since I've had the opportunity to walk along a beach, it was wonderful.

We also visited every thrift store in Brighton and Cobourg! This is Louie, the store cat at the Northumberland Humane Society thrift shop. Every time I visit Robin, we go to see Louie! This time he was outside, enjoying some fresh air (leashed).

 I can't remember the cat's name, probably Robin does.

I think he was outside an organic shop called Cree. (Wonderful eye cream!)

We stopped at Rutherford's Farm Market too.

 Mr. Rooster had a lot to say. I didn't see his harem, though.

One of the llamas. He was fixated on a customer's dog -- the man was walking him along the grass and the llama seemed to be keeping a wary eye on him.

 Early Friday morning, snapped from the back seat of the car as we were taking Chuck to work.

 

 The morning sky was lovely.

 

Miss Kitty, Robin and Chuck's stray girl. She comes in to eat and get cuddles, sometimes to sleep, but otherwise is outside. She's spayed, so she must have had a human at one time.

The birds at her feeder weren't being very cooperative. The cardinals only came around after I'd gone! (Robin posted a great cardinal shot in her most recent blog post. Pffftt.)

One of Robin and Chuck's neighbours has glorious hollyhocks. We stopped and rang her bell to ask if it was okay to take a few snapshots. (Thank you, Robin.) You know me and flowers, can't pass one up!

 

 

 

 

 

 She also had this gorgeous rose.

We stopped at so many places I've lost track of them all, but one spot that does stay in my mind is Magnolia Cottage in Brighton (link to her FaceBook page).

She specializes in vintage clothing, but she also sells jewelry and art from local artists. This funky cat print caught my eye.

It wasn't that expensive, really, but was more than I wanted to pay, so I had to pass. So tempting, though; I love it!

I'll leave you with one more snapshot, of my favourite old house in Brighton. I just love the wrap-around veranda, the homey and welcoming appearance of the place. They're right on the sidewalk on a main street, though, so have absolutely no privacy. Still, I've love a tour inside!

Thanks to Robin and Chuck yet again for their hospitality. It's always a joy to spend time with them, Robin in particular (Chuck usually is working). It's rare to find someone with whom I share so many common interests, so whatever she suggests we do always is fun!
