Soggy Week
There wasn't much for picture-taking this week. We had over 100 mm of rain between Saturday night (the 28th) and Monday October 30th, with the winds blowing a gale for the duration. And more rain through the week too, so I didn't get out for any lunch time jaunts. Now we'll "fall behind" a hour with the time change tonight, so it'll be dark by 5PM, as I'm getting home from work. We're on the cusp of winter!
I do have a few stragglers from the week of the 20th, though, a couple of pics I downloaded after my last update post, as well as a few from this week.

The "Principal's Residence" (houses Advancement), on a nice day.
I'm sure there aren't any morning glories left this week!
Evening clouds from an upstairs window.
Someone was displaying his hate for cardboard.
That would be Nicki. I've recycled the scratcher and bought a carpeted one instead, to add to all the other scratchers cluttering up the downstairs.
Nicki spied four juncos out the front door on Saturday afternoon. He got a little frustrated that he couldn't get to them. I snapped several pics through the screen, and this was the best of the lot. At least you can tell it's a bird!
Is this the Great Pumpkin?
I spied it on the way home after work on the 31st.
Then there's the obligatory snap of the boys on the same baby blanket on the couch.
I'm toying with the idea of ordering a couple of faux sheepskin mats from Ikea, or picking one or two up here. I think the boys might like curling up on something that cosy, and if I put them on the floor, maybe I could get my couch back...you know, so I can curl up.
The work week closed with an almost-full moon, snapped early this morning, Saturday AM (Nov 4).
On another note: My mom called me from Halifax at 6 AM today -- my step-dad, Harry, is in palliative care, and she and his daughter and step-son are on death-watch. He had fallen on Monday, nothing broken, but he just never recovered. No one knows if it's a matter of hours or days. I'm waiting to hear from Mom and will arrange a trip east as soon as I can.
Good thoughts for them, especially Mom, would be appreciated. My hope is that Harry passes peacefully and quietly, just slips away in his sleep. It's Mom most especially who will be left with the pieces.
Thanks and peace to you all.

I'm sorry to hear about Harry. Yes, your mom has really had some tough times. This is sad news.
I enjoyed your photos! The pumpkin is big and ugly but how funny! The boys are precious! The naked trees are making birdie watching better here which is one of the perks of this time of year. Keep us posted on if you're able to get your couch back! MOL!
Lovely photos, I especially like the morning glories. We woke up to a very hard frost this morning but my dahlias are still going strong at the side of the house.
It was the beaver moon this morning. I took a few photos too. Yours is wonderful!
Take care.
Great shot of the moon!
Harry passed this morning, quietly slipping away from an unconscious state. I find it hard to wrap my head around that, because we always would say that he would outlive my mom.
Hard frost here too, but even so, I saw purple clover in bloom as I was walking from FreshCo to Farm Boy. Crazy!
I like the idea of soft little rugs for the boys. It would be nice for you to relax on your own sofa!
Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your Mom concerning Harry.
Harry passed this morning, so it was quick. He'd had a fall on Monday, nothing broken, but never recovered after that, went into palliative care yesterday. He was ready to go, I think, and I hope that "wherever" he is, in whatever form (energy, spirit, etc.) that he's at peace and whole in mind and body again.
