What goes up must come down
I wasn't even thinking of my flights to and from Halifax when the subject title popped into my head, but it certainly fits!
So this will be two disparate topics under "What goes up must come down."
Going up, out of Kingston on the Dash 8 propeller plane on the 11th.
Mercifully, it was the 37-seater, not the 12 or 14-seater I was on two years ago. I still bawled on take-off, though!
It's also a very quick flight from Kingston to Toronto. You get up, you get offered a drink, then you're preparing for landing.
Below: Waiting for the plane to come in at Pearson Airport in Toronto, to head to Halifax. The gate is on the right. And yep, I bawled all through take-off on this flight too, whereas the toddlers were fine. This was a mid-afternoon flight, and when the flight attendant came around with the cart I asked if it was too early to drink. Her reply? "It's never too early." So it was "SCOTCH, please" for me, along with a fruit and cheese tray. Worth the $18 it cost, believe me.
This was the return flight, below. The plane had just landed in Halifax from London, England. I didn't get any other aerial shots because I was sitting in the middle row, aisle seat, too far from a window.
Happily, what went up came down safely, all four times!
I already have my little snowflake lights up under the overhead kitchen cupboards, and I have my table arrangements out. That's it, I'm done. And after nearly taking out my left eye while trying to remove my outdoor lights last year, I'm passing on exterior lights this time. I'll get my wreath out soon and I'll get one of those greenery displays that the grocery stores sell, put it on my front step. That's it. No one cares if I put lights up, and I just can't be bothered anymore. Not from any sense of "bah, humbug," but from sheer laziness.
Yeah, what she wrote. :-)
Peace.

I've been on those small planes and they are scarier. I'm always glad, whether on big or small planes, when what went up, came down. Honestly, though, I'm much more afraid of terrorism than actual plane travel. I love short flights. Going to California literally takes all day. It's about the same as flying to Europe from here. I really do not like travelling.
I very much liked the photographs from the air. The thousands of fields, the rivers and lakes... It always makes me wonder about the people down there,
Hugs to you and the boys!
Have a good day.
I'm sorry you have such a tough time with flights. I'm fortunate in that I love flying - if we do hit a bit of turbulence I pretend we're on a bus and those are potholes. Actually my favorite part is taking off, after that I often fall asleep. Though not on short hauls. :)
Have a great weekend, hope you manage to kick back and relax and enjoy being at home with Nicki and Derry!
