I think I'm allergic to winter
Surely it can't be a cold virus for two solid months, keeping me this congested every. single. day. I must be allergic to winter.
It was a quiet weekend at our place. I had to run up to Walmart on Saturday to return something I had bought online (they sent me the wrong size), and for the first time ever, I wussed out and took a taxi to go shopping. The windchill was minus 38C at the time and I. just. could. not. bear to stand outside waiting for a bus, even dressed in layers.
I didn't even leave the house on Sunday. It was minus 35C in the morning, with the wind, and I'd had enough. I went back to bed at 8:30 AM instead of heading out.
The boys had the right idea:
Nicki, above, was sitting on a small stool covered with one of the Ikea faux "sheepskin" rugs. (I have two others in the house for them, one on the living room floor, one on the bedroom ottoman.)
Derry, meanwhile, snuggled up on the couch.
Smart cats!
Today is "warm" by comparison, but it's been snowing all day, so I'll get my exercise after work when I go home and shovel the driveway.
In the meantime, I found these cute winter cartoons via Google:
And one lovely, positive take on winter:
I'd like the box of chocolates right now.
If you're freezing and/or snowed in/snowed under, hang on -- we're one day closer to Spring. :-)
Peace.

Ditto on cartoon #2 -- I downloaded several and that was my favourite.
You guys stay warm and cosy too!
While we do not have snow yet, those cold days are brutal.
We cats love being inside, but we have to listen to mum complain.
However, we have not had it as bad as you guys , so mum has no right to complain.
Stay warm!

Your boys look so comfy and cozy. I think we should follow their lead!
Love the funnies. I really enjoyed the last quote.
The cats definitely have the right idea I love the cartoons..especially Maxine!

I've had allergies for over a month now! The only reason I know it's not a cold is because it's lasting so long. I've never had this before. My nose is constantly running and I have a cough off and on. I'm so stuffy and miserable that I'm thinking of trying allergy medicine. I have had strange reactions to medicine I've tried in the past (Benadryl, Sudafed, and Claritin), but I need to do something. Ok, enough complaining.
Hope you feel better soon.
So sorry you are so stuffed up.
I was hoping you would take a cab on Saturday. Too darn cold to stand and wait for buses.
Did you have tons of snow to shovel out of your driveway? It was fun here as we got rain on top of the snow.
Take care!
As for dealing with brutal cold and snow...even we aren't used to prolonged bitter temps anymore. You don't know how I do it, but really, I don't know how you cope with the earthquakes -- that seems terrifying and obviously is far more destructive.
Have a good day, enjoy the walk in Proctor Park...take lots of pics. :-)
