Tuesday Temptation with Derry

The "temptation," above, made a bold foray into the back space a couple of weekends ago, even with a certain kitty outside.
 Derry kept his eye on him until he couldn't take it anymore.
Unfortunately (from Derry's point of view), the squirrel scrambled to safety.
Of course Derry had to go over and check things out afterward.
We've not had any more close squirrel encounters in the past couple of weeks (that I know of!), but no doubt Derry (and Nicki too) lives in hope.  :-)

Squirrels are very fast.
Julie is the one most likely to give chase,but she does not have a lot of opportunities.Once in a while one gets on the porch and she goes after it.So far they get away.

I wonder if they dream of chasing them. :-) Nicki often is very active in his sleep, jerking and even growling sometimes.

Ever since I got rid of some trees, the squirrels are now back further basically in our neighbors yard, so not as much fun for my kitties. Derry you did a fine job of chasing off the squirrel, but those rascals are fast!

Those squirrels are brazen! We, especially Ava, like watching them here.

I hope the answer is "no," but have Nicki or Derry ever managed to catch one of them?

Fortunately not! I try to keep an eye on things when either of the boys is out, and certainly hope they don't ever catch one. I don't want them tangling with any critters, thanks.

What do you think Derry would do if he caught a squirrel? He could be too surprised to hurt I'm - hopefully. Well, no insult meant to the boys, but I hope they don't catch anything. Sometimes the dream is better than the reality.

Some of the (mostly) outdoor cats in our complex are mighty hunters too. I know it's just their instincts, of course, but I wish they could leave the critters and birds alone.

Derry, you know..in Melbourne, Australia. I never ever seen squirrels at all, but in Bangkok which is a city. They have so many ! They are not big, I guess not enough food for all of them here.
Great to see you have fun. My mom said you're just a little plump....MOL ...she is rude, isn't she ? I hope she doesn't cause you trouble.

Derry is more than a "little" plump, he's FAR too fat. It's not that I feed him endless amounts of food, he just seems to be like me--gets fat on very little I've been trying to cut back on what he gets, but apparently it's not working.
