Touch my stick and I'll shred your hand, lady

Derry only looks roly poly and cute and cuddly. (Well, yes, he's obese. It's the cute and cuddly part that's deceptive!)


When it comes to his feathered stick, he's very possessive!


He'll growl/snarl if you try to take it away from him.


So I've learned that it's best just to let him have at it until he's had enough.

He would be a great hunter in the wild!! Miss Pops is only like that with the ugly plastic bag that she insists on sleeping on on my bed. She will actually cry if I move it off the bed, so i would rather that she be happy and just let her have it.

Ghost is a little like that. She wants to play, but gets carried away... and will growl or hiss when she's had enough. And yes, if she has something and doesn't want to give it up, we usually let her keep it... unless it's a little gecko (then I try to save it or she'll play with it until it dies of fright).

Derry that reminds me of the kitten bobcat video. Have you seen it? Two men are relocating a kitten bobcat and he is not happy with them thankfully it all ends without bloodshed but you being possessive of your stick reminded me of it!

Derry actually is quite good at hunting moths, etc. He can be very patient and very careful stalking his prey, whereas Nicki just jumps right in, full force.

LOL. Good thing! One of the pet sitters we've had commented on that, we'd been texting back and and forth and she said he wouldn't let her have the stick back. :-P
