Cold, cold weekend
I see it's been 10 days since I've done a blog post, so I ought to make an effort. I've got nothing, though. It's winter, it's freezing, I'm either at work or doing the usual stuff at home on the weekends.
The boys are okay. I've been trying to cut back on their food, but Derry keeps getting fatter and the one who doesn't need to lose any weight, Nicki, has. He looks too thin to me now, but that might be just because of Derry's sheer size. I think I need some help in trying to get some weight off of him (Derry). It's tough, when you have two pets with two different body types and eating styles! I have nothing but admiration for the many who have a full house of companion Beings and who have to juggle so many different dietary (and health) needs! That in itself is almost a full-time job.

Nicki has a vet appointment on Monday the 21st, for regular stuff, and I've got a few things to follow up on (kidney stones, his weight loss, and more frequent diarrhea). I worry about them both, wish they could have stayed young (say, about 4 or 5 years old) forever.
Of course our long range forecast is for a snowstorm on Sunday the 20th, so I figure that will flow into Monday and I won't be able to get a taxi. LOL. That's about par for the course every time I have to take Nicki in the winter! I'm sure he won't complain if we can't get there and I have to reschedule.
The happy thing about next Monday is that it will the first day that our city's sunset is at 5 PM. Woohoo! Already I notice a difference in the increasing light; I'm not getting home in the pitch dark anymore. We're on our way to Spring!
Snowdrops and crocuses from last April.
Stay warm and cosy if you're in the northern hemisphere, and if you're in the southern hemisphere, stay cool and enjoy your lovely summer weather. Send us some!
Peace.

I hadn't heard about snow. What I wouldn't give for a snow day.
I went and took Poppy to the vet a couple of weeks ago and said I was giving up. No more diets, I'm not buying expensive diet/teeth/digestion food for her. She eats what she wants to eat and she is 12 now and been on a diet since she was 3. No more. No more crazy tests or anything for her that will cause her distress. I sense that she is slowing down and sleeping more, and her joints are a bit sore. So she can have her heated bed and lots of cuddles and love. I am not giving up on her, but I am choosing to just let her be and not get stressed out because I have taken her food away, or banished her treats.
