The Return of the Ikea Queen
After taking a year or two off, the Ikea Assembly Queen has returned!
My excitement for Friday evening: Putting together the little Ikea Tyssedal storage stool I'd ordered. It had been delivered on Tuesday, but had to wait till week's end for assembly.

I ordered it partly because I'm always on the hunt for affordable double-duty furniture, and partly to see if I'd like the series. I've had my eye on a 4-drawer Tyssedal bureau for a while now.
While I do like the storage bench very much, I now don't think I'd buy the bureau, as the series has a more traditional appearance than I care for. Still, if the price--and shipping costs--are ever right....
I had hesitated to order it because one reviewer had said it was difficult to assemble. I actually found it straightforward, didn't even make a mistake. Maybe having a couple of glasses of wine while I was putting it together helped?
Nicki approved!
It's currently up in my bedroom, but will fit in just about anywhere in my little house, or any other future dwelling, so I'm pleased with it.
As for the weekend itself, Saturday was a lovely day, cold but no wind, and plenty of sunshine. I did the usual errands, and snapped a quick pick at my favourite spot while walking from the shopping mall to the big box store centre.
I'd prefer to gloss over Sunday, since this was the weather for much of the day:
We did get a break late in the morning, and it actually cleared up, so I headed out to do a few errands. By the time I finished the first one, however, we were in the middle of another snow squall, so I gave up and bused home.
We're bracing for yet another storm tonight and tomorrow, with as much as 20 cm predicted. Fun times.
I'm already so desperate for colour and flowers that I snapped a couple of quick pics at a grocery store this morning, on my way in to the office.
Wistful sigh. I can't wait for Spring!
Peace.

we canna stand winterz any mor :( ♥♥
As for winter, I dislike it intensely. I was good for the first couple of weeks in January, just settling into the new year and back at work, etc., but last week my mood started to tank, per usual. This is the downside to living in Canada, with the exception of the west coast. I saw that in Victoria, BC, the cherry blossoms are already coming out. Seriously? Anyway, one day at a time...and one day closer to spring!
We are currently snow free, but cold! The forecast may include snow.
We are ready for Spring ! Mum looks forward to going to work in daylight and coming home in daylight.
Yeah, mum is away a long time due to the bus and living just outside the city :/

You've been getting some very nasty weather! We're cold here today with a forecast of even colder temps tonight and tomorrow. I am so over winter!
Love the pics of the flowers!
I hear you about the long days! I live only 5 km from work and it still takes me almost an hour in the mornings by bus (or walking) and an hour going home. Crazy. I'd mind the length of time less if I were travellling farther!
Yes, it's bitterly cold here too, and we have more snow than most of us want, never mind need.
However, we're inching toward Spring!
We had some squalls here today. Crazy stuff. I work in a high rise in NYC, and couldn't see across the street through my office window.
Hugs to you, and scritches to Nicki and Derry. Stay warm!
