You look fabulous, Friday!

Whew, I made it to Friday. Even with Monday off (vet days are NOT true vacation days, even if I do have to take them as such), this week has been challenging. I'm happy to see the end of it, even with more cold and snow on the way. Hey, right now we actually have sunshine (gasp!), so I'll just appreciate that.

It's since cleared up, at last.

I even get to leave work early today, but that's for a dental appointment later this afternoon. No biggie, just some bonding, so I'm delighted to be able to exit the cubicle in a few hours.

BTW, the cart is a recent Ikea purchase, came on Monday while I was away. I put it together on Tuesday at lunch time, quickest and easiest Ikea assembly ever. I needed something to get a few of my plants off the window sill, with the blasting heat from the radiator. The poor things have been frying. I still have two pepperomias on the sill at either end, away from the vents, as well as plants that can tolerate lower light elsewhere in my cubicle-space. It's a bit of a green jungle, but it makes me feel better, and I have no plants at home anymore because of the boys.

By this time of year, with so many grey, dismal weather days, I start to crave an abundance of colour, so I might even buy myself some flowers next week from the grocery store and bring them to the office (again, I can't have any at home, there's nowhere to put them that would keep them out of the reach of the boys).

I found the next two images from a Google search. Isn't the little suitcase planter, below, the cutest thing ever? It would be very easy to do, too!

I love the bar cart as a plant stand, below right. What a great idea. And the profusion of plants and colour makes me feel happy. Eventually my own little cart will make its way home, perhaps for a similar purpose. 

In the meantime, I'm knitting my first "sashay" scarf, am almost done. "Knitting" might be the wrong word. It's very difficult to work with, and it's more about hooking on the lacy yarn to "knit" another row. Takes patience, and in my case, good light and reading glasses to do it!

Nicki, meanwhile, seems to have recovered from his ordeal on Monday.

Derry seems okay too, other than the obesity health issue. He enjoys play time with the stick and red dot, and is as demanding as ever for scritches.

I think we're all happy, though, that the end of January is in sight. We're one day closer to Spring! :-)
