Who needs 13 jackets?

So, I was rushing around this morning before heading out to catch the bus, and needed a lighter jacket (and lighter boots), because yesterday and today were quite mild (yay for diminishing snowbanks!).

I popped down to the basement where I keep an old trunk of off-season outer wear and discovered that I have 13, count 'em 13, jackets and coats. Including my winter coats, of course.

Never mind that all but two are from thrift stores, who needs 13 jackets/coats?! And that's AFTER I had culled them in late fall or early winter.

I might have a problem.

Pics are from yesterday late afternoon.
What a sloppy mess in the back space!

Anyway, no doubt the boys think their one fur coat each is quite sufficient for all seasons!

I'll leave you with a few quotes I found on Pinterest (with the hope I'm not breaking any copyright laws).

I saw this, below, and immediately thought of the tragedy in New Zealand:

Boys, don't blame you one bit for not venturing out into your see of snow, puddles and mud!
You sure do have a lot of jackets and coats. We are happy the warmer weather is finally starting to show up. The boys look like they can't wait until all that snow is gone. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful upcoming weekend.

I think I have 4 in my car right now! I'm glad your weather is warming up some. Hope you and the boys have a great weekend!

Oh gosh I would hate to tell you how many hoodies, jackets, sweaters, coats I have and I live in Florida. Isn't it funny that you still have all of this and you look into your closet and feel like you've nothing to wear! *sigh* I've always been a clothes-a-holic and I'm not about to change that. I have gotten very good at downsizing my closet but I'm sure that to many I would STILL own too much, but that's OK. I like my wardrobe and for myself I find that it's best if I have multiple sizing as the scale tends to go up and then down, like now I'm into my smaller clothes which is a good thing and i hope that remains for a long long long time.

They actually did venture off the step; it's fairly "dry" right by the foundation. Muddy paw season is starting!

You have a wonderful weekend too!

Okay, I don't feel so "bad" now. LOL.

Well, you make me feel better now. LOL. Alas, my size seems to be going only one way: up! (Giving up chocolate and all the lattés might help, but gees, what fun is that?)

Just think, a different jacket each day for 13 days.

I'd have to count, but I probably have that many too! I know I have three winter coats...all but one of which I hope to rid myself of soon.

Love the last quote most of all. Today's events in New Zealand where horrific. I had an e-mail from a friend in England, her former boss works near one of the mosques, the business was on lock-down for about 4 hours as the police investigated. Definitely frightening times!

I bet I have just as many jackets coat and various sizes for the usual woman-type reason. :-) I let go of a full length coat that was never worn! And a couple of 3/4 length jackets..a few sweaters, and I must cull again!

Okay, guys, I don't feel quite as embarrassed by my "excess" anymore. :-D
We are happy with milder weather too!
Hoping the big rains tomorrow move a lot of snow and nothing freezes!
Tired of ice and slipping.
13 coats...hahahaha! But at least they all fit nicely into a trunk so it's not as bad as it sounds :)

Nicki and Derry are so cute. They look like they're deliberately keeping their paws dry. Well, 13 sounds like a lot to me, but you'll probably never have to buy another! Well, you probably will because you'll see a cute one. :)

Hooray for better weather, Kim. 13 coats seems like a lot, but I love that you can contain them in one trunk. Neat and tidy and organized! :)

Hugs to you, and scritches to Nicki and Derry!

There may be a need for numerous jackets and coats, but if you forgot you had some, then you probably have too many.

And as for animals cleaning everything for me, I'd settle for mine simply not adding to the mess.
Well I do and if I counted them up probably have more. I am cold natured so I like to have a thin jacket to wear even in the summer because some places keep their stores/offices freezing and then I have a few heavy coats/jackets for winter. Some causal some dressy.
That is a fair number of coats :) You can shop your closet once you realized how many you have. I need to get rid of a few jackets myself.
This time of year is so messy. Can't say I blame the boy about not wanting to venture into the backyard.
Take care!
