"We can't do everything"
I've been rereading Nora Ephron's book, I Feel Bad About My Neck. (Love the book, had borrowed it at work two or three years ago, then just recently found a copy at a thrift store. Very sad that she passed at only 71.)
[In part]
This is it. This is it.
This is life, the one you get
So go and have a ball.
This is it. This is it
Straight ahead and rest assured
You can't be sure at all.
So while you're here enjoy the view
Keep on doing what you do
So hold on tight we'll muddle through
One day at a time, One day at a time.
I think we all just muddle through one day at a time.
Comments are off today. I'll leave you on a lighter note with some Pinerest images that I found amusing.
Peace.
On page 111 she writes that someone tells her, in a particular situation, that "we can't do everything."
She has an "aha" moment, I have an "aha" moment about my care of the boys, Nicki in particular at the moment.
I can't do everything.
I can't do everything for Nicki, who is having yet another round of diarrhea and refusing to eat the pricey gastrointestinal biome vet food I got in June. (Of course he is. LOL.) These bouts are probably in part the reason he can't regain any weight. Who can, when what they eat goes right through them?
He's getting FortiFlora and slippery elm, and I have a new product on order from PetAlive.com, which likely will take a couple of weeks to get here. I hope it helps for the next round.

I will speak to the vet in the fall when Nicki goes back for his anal glands. But I'm not going to try to transition him (them) to raw, they're too old, IMO, to go that route. I'm not going to take him to Ottawa or Toronto (2 and 3 hours away, respectively) for extensive testing of his gut. I haven't the means in any case, in any sense of that word.
I can't do everything.
I only hope that I can do enough, and that Nicki and the Universe will forgive me for not being able to do "everything."
Does anyone remember the mid-70s to mid-80s sitcom "One Day at a Time?" One of the TV stations I get has been running it, and I've seen a couple of episodes on the weekdays that I've been home (holiday Mondays, etc.) The show's theme still applies today:

Nicki must have practiced this pose, because he
turned his nose up at 4 different foods this morning.
Me to a tee!
Peace.
