"You've got mail"

I snapped these pics in June, while Dad and I were waiting at the Glenora Ferry to cross over to Prince Edward County. Someone is very creative! (Click on them to enlarge.)





I hope everyone is doing well, or at least treading water, as the expression goes. Work is busy, I'm exhausted (as usual!), it's hot (won't complain too much about that, since winter will be here soon enough), I'd rather win $1M+ on the lottery (ha, who wouldn't), etc.

But the boys are okay, or were this morning when I left the house, I have a decent, tolerable job with good people around me, I have a house, too much to wear, lots to eat, I've booked an early August trip out of town to visit friends for a few days...Life's okay at the moment. 

I hope it is for you, too.

the last one is hilarious !!! they are all very creative. we have a 'cluster box" where X number of people on the street go to pick up mail; it's nice that you have to use a key to get TO the mail
because of all the fraud etc that's rampant, and it makes for a interesting journey by foot in the
winter as the box is several houses down the street. :)

You are very right, Kim. We have a roof over our head, food to eat, clothes to wear, and our health (and our cats) is reasonably well. All is good.

The mailboxes are hilarious!

Some days are less "okay" than others, but we all do have much to be thankful for. A short trip to visit with friends sounds terrific.

Our own mailboxes are locked boxes at the end of my street too (there are three sets in the complex). But they're not creative like these!

I could always find something to complain about, Caren, if I wanted to. But I'd rather make the conscious effort to look at my life from a perspective of abundance, rather than lack. Some days are easier than others in that regard, though. As is the case for us all, I think!

Some days I struggle to find any "okay" - lol. Yesterday the high point of my day was seeing a cute bunny on someone's lawn as I passed by on the bus. Today's high point was seeing two chipmunks that atypically didn't scurry away at my presence. (Maybe some staff or students feed them?) I guess it's good that at least I could find a "high" point! :-D

You're quite right, life is okay. Well, I am still on holidays, so it is better than that for me. Even though I am very busy during my holidays, it's still better than working.

I remember the days when mail was something I always looked forward to, especially parcels with books in them, and book catalogues from the shops and publishers. Ah, the good old, slower days.
