It's January...in November

Oooh, boy, Old Man Winter has made his appearance far too soon. We had what probably was record-setting snow yesterday and overnight.

It was about 20 cm of snow, I think. Crazy. There were some buses off the road and stuck last night, other vehicles as well. Our streets were a mess coming in to work this morning, with most roads, even major arteries, unplowed. The city dropped the ball on this one, in spite of the advanced weather warnings.

I didn't realize how slippery it was/is underfoot, either. I felt twice in my complex while heading the bus stop, the first time right on my knees and the second, moments later, flat on my back. Whoosh! I hurt now. LOL. Note to self: Dig out my ice-grippers for my boots!

The pics below are from last week's couple of centimeters of snow, not our storm yesterday. I'd gone out at lunch time before it started to melt. I'd hoped then it was "one and done," but no such luck!





Oh, to be a spoiled house kitty, tucked up nice and cosy for the day.  :-)

Holy carp! That's a lot of snow! We got snow yesterday too but not that much. Maybe half. Now we're in the deep freeze. How lucky we are to be inside kitties! Hope your mum isn't too sore today after all those falls.

"Mum" currently is taking Advil and has a heating pad at her back. :-P

Let's hope for a warm-up to normal temps soon!

think we had your left overs here; took 30 minutes to get home in what should have taken 10 tops; mind you in was FIFTY on sunday.....I recall the days when I looked forward to snow angels and snow forts and ice skating; I must have been....nuts..... as a child !!!!! :) ♥♥♥

Growing up in rural Quebec meant a lot of snow days with cancelled school. I do remember looking forward to that! Of course I'd just put on my skidoo suit and spend the day out in the storm. :-P

Gosh it must be hard trekking too and from work in that weather. We never have snow and seldom reach below freezing, so nothing a good hat and winter coat won't fix. I admire your perseverance Kim and hope that you don't get too many bruises.

Brrrrr....again I know I always say how pretty it is all in pictures, but I know in real life it must be something different. Be careful with those falls. If you're like me right now ( out with my back because of cat litter -- somehow finally those 35 lb pails got me) it hurts to have achy spots.

I hope there was no lasting damage when you fell. I don’t know which I would have rather had, falling on my knees or my back. Either way, it indeed must have hurt. Yes, please be careful; one fall could put you in the hospital.

Oh my goodness, that is a lot of snow! And those temperatures and ice ... be careful out there, Kim! No snow here yet, but it IS cold. I hope you did not get hurt too much from falling. Not fun at all. Hugs to you, Nicki and Derry!

Yikes, falling is never fun and to do it twice ...I'm sure you're feeling it! We've probably had that much snow but thankfully over several days, but we're forecast to be above freezing by Sunday so perhaps we'll lose much of it. I'll try to send it your way when we're done. :)

Yes, to be a cat (or a retired person) is a good thing with this crazy winter weather. Be careful out there!

Yikes. Sorry to hear about your fall. Snowy/icy sidewalks can be treacherous.
