Friday Flashback
I rarely will post an old photo of the cats, because seeing my angels just makes my heart hurt and I don't want to go there.
But I came across this one, from Friday March 6, 2009, of a much younger Nicki and Derry finding their first bug of the season. :-)
Nicki would have been 3 years, 5 months at the time, Derry 2 (going on 3). It's not a good snapshot, but that doesn't matter to me anymore.
I was dreaming of Nicki last night, that he wasn't dead. Instead, I had re-homed him as a youngster, for his Highest Good (for some unfathomable reason!). In the dream, I was visiting him several years later, when he was an adult in his prime. He had Nicki's head, but his body had the colouring and markings of a tiger. Weird. I swear I didn't eat or drink anything strange before bedtime!
As for Derry, he might be starting to get spring fever. He was playing and tearing around like crazy (crazy for him--haha) last evening and again this morning. He tore through his tent a couple of times, upending it in the process. Nicki would have been proud! 😸
And as for me, I'm just glad to reach an end to the work week. It's felt long, not because I don't have anything to do at work, but because there's been a bit too much going on! I know the weekend will be the usual errands and house cleaning, but I'm looking forward to it regardless.
Everyone take care; stay safe and be well!
Peace.

Hope you have a good weekend!
Such a precious kitty-brother photo of Nicki and Derry!
Our siblings will be 13 on March 30, so they're about Derry's age.
Barty the eldest will turn 16 on the 17th... Hard to believe but he sure is the eldest pet I've ever lived with, meaning the longest time.
Oh, we never forget those precious things and like you say, photos, however imperfect, they still manage to tug our heart for the sheer memory that they represent!
Sending you hugs, had another night with wet-vac duty... now it is storming but sunny!
Mariette
I don't often dream of the cats, but I still reach out for Sami at night.
Have a good weekend!
Moosey, Sammy, Zoe and Graphite still sometimes visit me in my dreams. It seems so real.
Hope you're having a great weekend, Kim. And that Spring really comes soon for you and Derry!
And the weekend... I'm writing this on a Sunday, which is when I can catch up on my blogs. I love weekends, too. They are usually very busy for me, but it's not someone else's work that I'm doing. The work I do on weekends is for me, and has a point, unlike the rest of the week...
