Welcome, March!
A quick hello to say welcome to March, albeit a few days late!
A reporter recently referred to March and early April, plus November, as "gutter months." Presumably because of the overflowing street and house gutters, with the accompanying rain and general mess that "spring" tends to bring here.

No matter, I'll take March over January and February any day, thanks. :-)
There's nothing exciting here, last week and the weekend were the usual work and life stuff.
I did go to Value Village on Sunday, not for their half-price sale, but for books. I was in a book-buying mood.😊
I found10 (not part of the half-price sale, but you buy 4 and get the 5th free), just easy/feel good bedtime reading, or as in the case of the two hardcover photo books on the bottom of the pile, bedtime viewing of the professional photos of cats and kittens.
Regarding the "Ellen" books: I don't watch her show at all, but I have her more recent third book (also a thrift store find) and quite enjoyed it, so I grabbed the two older ones when I spied them.
Derry didn't care about my bargain finds. :-)
I did find him a $3 toy at Walmart on Saturday, though, which he seems to be enjoying: a wand with feathers and pom-poms on the end.
Nicki hated pom-poms, or anything with a "strange" tip (including pens and pencils). He would attack things like that, not in play, but quite seriously. So it's nice to see that Derry actually plays with this, as he doesn't care for most of the toys in the house that Nicki did have fun with. (The house still seems so empty without him, even approaching 15 weeks.)
We had a brief glimpse of blue sky this morning, around 7 AM (above), but it quickly fogged over. By the time I was walking to the office from a downtown bus stop, it looked like this:
That's all I've got, so I'll leave you with a couple of cute cartoons found on Pinterest, as well as some inspiration, also courtesy of my Pinterest feed.
Peace.

Haha, that is some lovely cat-humor in your shared Pinterest cartoons!
This morning our most skinny Bandido did barf up most of his breakfast and I'm a bit worried about him. He's never ever gained any weight but he needs his food inside his tummy so badly! He's always, from birth on having problems after drinking water, he kind of coughs up in a bad way, no barfing but doesn't sound healthy.
Happy for Derry that he loves his latest toy, there is no telling ever what they really want. Ours seem to be playing more with balls. Funny last addition was the four wool dryer balls we picked up at the cashier of Trader Joe's. They felt so perfect inside their cotton bag and they are being loved. They can claw them better, even though they bounce less...
You are quite an active lady in walking your section to work daily and indeed, the weather has a big impact on you. Winter usually is wet and rather grim looking. The sun just is trying to peak through the fog here as well. Longing for sunny and brighter days, they do affect us as well as our kitties.
Hugs,
Mariette
tho !!! :)
lookin good buddy...hope ewe N joy yur week a head ~~~~~ :) ♥♥
Miss pops has little interest in toys either. It must be her age I think.

I tend to buy used books at the Salvation Army thrift store instead of VV because the prices are lower. However, that usually means there isn't much selection either.
I'm with you, I'll take March over January and February. Have a good week!
You found some great books, and I'm glad Derry likes his new toy. Hugs to you as you miss sweet Nicki. It never gets easier, does it? :(
I like Derry's position on that scratcher. Only a cat would find that pose comfortable.
