A bit of everything
Two words: polar vortex. 🥶
Derry's BRIEF outdoor whiffies yesterday afternoon:
I'm struggling to remember last week; every day is like the movie "Groundhog Day" when you're working from home (WFH).
Oh, I did leave the house on TWO days: Thursday for groceries at a nearby discount grocery store, and then on Saturday morning to Farm Boy for a few specialty/other grocery items. Such excitement!
We'd had snow squalls on Friday and Saturday, so my walk along the path through the swamp on Saturday morning was lovely. I hadn't been there since the very beginning of January.
I've come to realize, while WFH, that most of my snapshot-taking was on the way to the office or at lunch time around campus. Without that, I've got nothing. LOL.
Sunday morning I continued my pre-spring decluttering; my garage is almost bursting, one half with junk (to be picked up at some point) and the other half stuffed with donations. (I hope that some charity will be picking up this year, otherwise it's going to be ridiculous out there. Good thing I don't have a car.) Apparently I have to accept that I'm not a minimalist.
Besides being productive in the house, I did find time to finish the simple afghan I've been working on for a while, though I might add a fringe at some point. I have an entire ball of wool leftover, but it's already so long that it's well over my head.
I also had time to do a small, easy jigsaw puzzle, one I had purchased at the latter part of 2019 but never opened. It was a bit of colour and cheer, quick to do. I still have a few others waiting, so maybe next weekend I'll take a couple of hours and do another. I don't have the mental focus or patience to do a 1000 (or more) puzzle right now.
I tuned in to Kitten Bowl VIII while I was puttering around, saw bits and pieces of it. Did anyone else watch? There was a lot of cuteness--and a lot of hissing--going on. LOL.
The stories of special needs adoptions that they include are always so touching. I hope all the kittens featured find wonderful forever homes, and sooner than later. I know there's also a Puppy Bowl, I saw it listed on Animal Planet, but I don't get that station.
I think that's about it. Since our city greenhouse open-house will be closed this year due to COVID, I'll leave you with a few repeat pics from last February's display. Ahhh, I'm dreaming of Spring, and warmth! Take care, everyone.
Peace.

You certainly have more snow than we do. Love the spring flowers! Wouldn't it be nice to sit in a conservatory and enjoy the smells of moist earth and the flora scents. Sigh...someday.
Take care, stay well!
Derry is furry heroic!
So is his Human.
We have Our Weekly Groceries delivered, but that's nothing to do with the Evil Coronavirus. It's just that We always do!
Sometimes Mummy just goes for a walk if the weather is nice.
Keep well, We love you.
Such lovely pictures with Derry in the snow and on the new blanket (for him...).
Too bad that the Greenhouse with the heavenly spring flowers will be closed. HOW MUCH have the Citizens of the World now been deprived of?!
Hugs and keep going, we ALL hope for better times.
Mariette
I appreciate spring much more than I used to, and now look forward to it, especially the scents of the flowering bushes and shrubs. Only a few weeks to go. Supposedly.
Derry looks to be enjoying the afghan. :)
We flipped back and forth between the Kitten Bowl and Puppy Bowl. PAWS had a pup in the Puppy Bowl, which was kind of exciting.
Stay warm, and hugs to you and Derry.
