"Painted ladies"

"...Painted ladies and a bottle of wine mama
"Ooh ooh Feeling good mama..."

I'm certainly old enough to remember that Ian Thomas song. :-)

However, the "painted ladies" I'm referring to are the painted turtles (no idea of gender) I saw yesterday, while out of town visiting a friend.

I took many more turtle pics, more than any person needs, but these were just a few. We saw adults and young, tiny ones; oodles of turtles! The pond we stopped at first was pretty scummy, though. Disgusting, actually. But a haven for geese, ducks, fish and even a heron.

Maybe I'll post more pics another time; right now I'll leave it with just some of the turtles. I had to post; I've had that song's chorus stuck in my head since yesterday afternoon!  :-D

Peace.

these guys// gals are cool! if nothing else you didn’t need to “rush”
to get their pictures 😺‼️
I can't sing a note, ask anyone who's had the misfortune to hear me. However, when I get a song in my head, it spins round and round and I wish it would stop like an old 45. I love the color of the painted ladies and gents and kids! Sounds like you made your destination to visit with your friend and hope it was a enjoyable time together. Lynn and Precious
They do look pretty. The water shows up their colour.
Dearest Kim,
Don't know the song but your pictures here are so lovely; you were lucky for being able to capture them!
Hugs,
Mariette
I remember that tune too. Love the turtles, they are super cool and fun.

They are so beautiful. Even if the pond is scummy, I'm glad they and the wildlife have a place they can enjoy.

I thought I knew 'em all (songs) but that one escaped me...go figure! Those are beautiful turtles! I have never heard of that type of turtle. How lovely that you got to see them and their families. SO wish I could as well. Love the photos and I will each and every time you put some here for us.

Here I was, all ready to see your photos of old Victorian homes! Did not even know there were such lovely colorful turtles ... how pretty these ladies (and gents) are ... a pleasant surprise to see them, thanks!

I remember the name, Ian Thomas, but looking at the list of his music I don't recall any of the songs. Though I should admit I'm be a lousy contestant on any game show matching artists to their songs.

The painted ladies are lovely. Most of the turtles here are red eared turtles that people picked up at the local pet store, grew too large, and were tossed into the creek or lake. Sad, really.

You would recognize if you heard it, I'm sure!

Ian Thomas! Yes, I remember: brother of SCTV's Dave Thomas. There's no mistaking that if you see them together. Look at all those turtles in the last photo! Marvellous. Have you seen the video of the turtles coming from all over a pond to rescue one of their own who has flipped over on his back?
I don't think I have seen so many turtles in one place at one time! It is no wonder you took so many photos :)
