Time flies with short work weeks
I see it's almost ten days since I posted; I didn't realize it was that long.
I now notice that when I want to add a photo from my Google Albums, it no longer shows me any past 2021. I have to go into Google Photos (i.e. not the nicely organized albums) to scroll to the pics I want. Hmm. Not impressed with Blogger at the moment.
Anyway, it was a wonderful extra long, long holiday weekend from May 20 - 23 inclusive. I wish EVERY week was three days of work and four of "weekend!"
This weekend IS another four-day weekend for me, as I took yesterday (Friday the 27th) as a vacation day, and I'm taking Monday as well. I'll be out of town for most of the day on Monday visiting a friend--she's driving half an hour, I'm taking the train for half an hour, and we're meeting in the middle to catch up. I'm looking forward to it!
Below: The ferns from the other side of the fence have been making themselves at home in my garden for the third spring and are starting to expand nicely. I love ferns; as far as I'm concerned, they can take over most (not all!) of that side of my little garden.
I don't have anything exciting to relate, which probably is a good thing; there's enough "excitement" in the world as it is. Work is work, I'm into my stupid-busy time and just got saddled with another annual project, because why not make it eight yearly projects between May and August instead of seven? Gosh, why not round up to ten?
Derry's been enjoying the garden quite a bit, which makes me happy. You can barely see him turning in his chair, on the left. (I was snapping pics of the garden at the time; when Derry saw my camera he turned himself around to avoid having his picture taken.)
Only angel Chumley would pose for the camera! (Below is an old pic from the latter part of 2006; he died in January 2007.)
Well, Derry didn't do too badly on the "posing" one afternoon this past week, as I was wrapping up work. At least he looked (sort of) in my direction for a change! (It was the look of impatience.)
Take care, all. I hope you have something to enjoy this weekend, even if it's "only" the sound of birds singing, or a good cup of tea or coffee, a book, a movie, whatever. Those small things ARE the "big" things in life.
Peace.

Lovely photo of your sweet Chumley!
Oh, Derry can give you the looks about what he thinks of the moment...
Lovely flower pictures and Derry sure loves his chair for lounging outdoors!
Enjoy the visit with your friend!
Today I was supposed to fly across the pond, on Delta, using Pieter's miles for a Premium Select seat but I was for two hours in vain at the airport... Not even a higher ranking Delta agent could solve it over the phone. So I was issued a new departure flight tomorrow, same Premium Select seat. Hoping that I will finally make it. So much stress this time... unreal!
Hugs,
Mariette
Your flower and fern photos are so beautiful, Kim. Sorry work is so crazy for you, but glad you're getting a few days off, and getting to visit with your friend. We hope you have fun!
Hugs to you and Scritches to Derry.
