Mancat Monday

Derry was out in the garden yesterday, meowing up a storm.

From his tone, I knew there was another cat on the other side of the fence, so I popped out with my camera to see who was hanging about.

I've seen him before, fairly recently, and believe him to be someone's indoor/outdoor cat. He was wary and wouldn't approach, but didn't run away when I crouched down by the corner of my garage and talked to him. (I had my zoom camera, as he was at the other end of the walkway, by the back of my fence, probably about 30 feet away.)

I seldom know whether Derry wants to meet a particular roaming cat, or if he's upset by their presence. Well, I do know he dislikes Carla, who has been around a long time, but I don't know about the others that come and go with their people.

Anyway, other than Derry's "monologue," this fellow didn't seem to cause too much of a ruckus.  :-)

Take care, all; I hope the week goes well.

That's great, handsome Derry and an unknown Kitty showing off this morning. Don't we love those cat photos. At least I see there's flowers in the garden and sunshine on your kitty. I'm not ready for cold weather. Just give me Pleasant temperatures and lots of sunshine that would do me good until January. But I don't think our flowers will last that long will they? Precious had one of the neighbor cats at the front door in the dark the other morning at 5:30. It was after her catnip and she did not appreciate the company on the front porch at all. Lots of growling.

Derry just letting any intruders know that he is the king of his property! MOL
Well your visitor is quite the cute on Derry, tell him we said howdy too!

If it's just much meowing, then it's probably more benign a conversation than he's had with Carla. (It looks like you've put him in the corner for misbehaviour in the first picture.)
I think he is annoyed at an "introoder" approaching his territory and warning him about it.
Dearest Kim,
Our kitties love to socialize with other kitties—they have some friends.
One, I call 'Friendcat' at times is meowing so pitiful later at night, on our front patio... Calling ours outside as they all linger indoors. That breaks my heart as he probably NEVER is allowed cozy time indoors with his humans. Bet they do tell stories to each other!
Love Derry's pictures and also the one you took of the kitty visitor.
Hugs,
Mariette

Maybe Derry is saying, "Hey, don't get TOO comfortable in my space, or try to come in here, okay? OKAY? Okay."
