Angel Madi could hear the pop top on a can of Fancy feast when she was upstairs on the other side of the house than the kitchen...but she could not hear me when I was standing beside her Hugs and happy weekend. I believe this! I recently read in a cat pamphlet from Cornell just how great their hearing is and how far away the hear things. The even hear better than dogs.
That first one is my fave. Zoe used to crack us up with her amazing hearing. She could be upstairs, on the other side of the house, and if we opened a can (with a silent, manual opener, mind you), she would appear at our feet. It was like she transported there. LOL
