Seriously, 2023?

What the heck is with 2023?!

First Derry passed, then my mom, then Poppy, Puddy, Brian, and today I woke to find out that Julie, of Mickey's Musings, has run off to the Bridge. (Sadly, we've lost many others, both human and non, this year as well.) Then there's the whole global situation, which is filled with divisiveness and hate. (I stopped watching the news last winter; I stick to more uplifting things just to maintain some semblance of sanity.)

I know there has been so much good too, so much Light in this year, but for some reason, 2023 seems very skewed to loss and grief. Maybe that's a reflection of my own journey through these months.

Anyway, if anyone is needing a bit of inspiration right now, here are a few images from my Pinterest feed. I'm wishing you all Blessings and Peace.

Very heartfelt post Kim...I do so agree with each sentiment.
The comfort I have found over the years is remembering with the heart and my mind's eye.

I too have stopped watching the news, Kim. It's 'too much' to carry around. I watch Face the Nation on Sunday morning to catch up... but throughout the week I try to keep my own life in some semblance of order. Things are constantly changing and we must adapt in order to survive with our sanity intact.

You are not alone in feeling, believing this year has been fraught with anxiety, stress, worry and yes, loss. It has seemed never ending and even now continues ... I try to find a small measure of goodness and sanity in each day, sometimes hard to achieve. It often comes by reaching out to another in some way, in my own little corner of the world. Not much, but it does help a bit.
I saw about sweet Julie this morning. I feel so lucky now when I see so much horrible happenings around the world with war acts on innocents. And every time one of our fur friends flies off and leaves behind their human, I know how sad it is. Thank you for posting positive thoughts for this time in life.
Dearest Kim,
WEll for you it was a lot of loss and for me personally it has been the worst year of my entire life...
Hugs,
Mariette
Those are good and uplifting messages. As far as I can see, the rot set in for the 2020s with Covid and continued to go downhill ever since.
Yes, this year has pretty much sucked so far but we're still ready for some good and some happy.

My sympathies to all who knew and loved Julie.

The second meme spoke volumes to me. Sadly, the only true constant in life is change.

You're right. With all the loss and sorrow that's already happened, and all the evil an suffering in the world, Julie going to the Bridge just adds to how much 2023 has sucked. Thank you for the very uplifting and wise memes today. Hugs and purrs for you, Kim.

I feel a bit wiped out by this year too Kim.
OMG I didn't know about Julie! So glad I came over here. Sadly, I knew about all of the others, it's been so sad and depressing......sooooo sad. I have to go to Julie's blog now.
