Down memory lane with the fur kids in December 2009

I came across these pics from December 2009, of all three cats (Annie, Nicki, and Derry) enjoying the tree and the general festivities.

Nicki enjoying some packing material...under supervision, of course!

Annie with her laser on high.

Nicki checking out the tree box.

Derry looks innocent...

...but even he couldn't resist the lure of the tree when he was young.

Derry...such a sweet baby bear.

Nicki, below. You'll note that there were no ornaments on the lower branches...for good reason!

Annie chilling on the footstool.

Derry in the foreground and Annie hiding in the back. No doubt she was trying to hide from Nicki, her nemesis.

Derry again, because that sweet face was irresistible to me.

Lastly, Nicki taking his turn posing nicely under the tree.

Cats, especially when young and full of beans, certainly make the holidays entertaining! I hope you enjoyed the jaunt down memory lane. Have a terrific day!

Such lovely Christmas memories. I used to put cheap unbreakable ornaments at the bottom of the tree. Eric used to have such fun removing them and chasing them across the floor.
I truly enjoyed these pictures. Three kitties at one time under one tree. Couldn't get a better Christmas gift if you wanted. Annie looks so much like my Peepers. Peepers was all gray with very little markings but all that lovely fur around their face. Are you putting a tree up for yourself this year? I hope your decorating a little bit in order to get some light in the house if nothing else. And it won't be long until your visit with family. Lynn and Precious XX

Hi Lynn. Yes, I've decorated and have my little 4 foot tree up. It's pre-lit and I just put ribbon around it, didn't bother with baubles this year. It's pretty, though, and lends a cosy glow to the dark evenings.
We so enjoyed looking at these wonderful pictures. Such great memories and thank you so much for sharing them with us.

Kim that was such a wonderful series of your Angels.
Derry by the tree with his paw ready to swat that evil limb.
Annie looked so pretty in front of the red tent
Looks like Nicki was in his element....the fur down his back is all black with excitement
Thank you for sharing

Tabbies, nope, I don't think they knocked the tree over. Chumley and Annie were far harder on the trees than Nicki and Derry, though! 😆

I don't think I'd found your blog when these photos were taken, so all are new to me. Cats and trees and ornaments, what fun! I used to tie my tree to a hook in the ceiling. Thank goodness for unbreakable ornaments.

Lovely memories of your gorgeous fur babies!
Dearest Kim,
Those images bring back very fond memories of your fur babies.
They will forever live on in our hearts...
Hugs,
Mariette
Such sweet photos. They all seemed to be enjoying the holiday fun.

Nicki in the Christmas tree's box: I have a similar picture with Tungsten in the box... Every year, I refrain from putting ornaments on the tree because every year I have some new cat who hasn't been tested around the tree. This year, there are five who weren't here last Christmas, three of whom are kittens. No ornaments again this year...

Look at all of your kids having fun. It's not the same now is it?

No, nothing is the same now, Julie. So much loss, especially this year. I miss the energy they brought to my life, and the company. But life is about change, about loss and acceptance and healing...and new opportunities. ❤️
