"Never" is three and a half years

It's very rare for me to post a pic of myself, I'm far too old for the "selfie" madness that so many seem to participate in. However, I had a hair makeover on Saturday -- chop, chop of the COVID hair!

I have not had my hair this short since 2011, and for most of these years it's been in a layered bob of various lengths.

When everything was shut down during COVID, I, like so many, let my hair grow. I did get it trimmed from time to time, but I was tired of the bob and wanted to let it grow. I started having layers put back in over the past 12 - 18 months, still keeping the length, but after my last trim at the end of September, I knew I was done. I have a long face and it takes a lot of work to make my longer hair look half-decent, not just hang straight in my face, making me look even drearier and older.

So Saturday morning I went in to my stylist with some pics of what I liked--and what I didn't--and put myself in her hands.

It's not what I expected, but it's a nice change for me! And my gosh, it's so easy to manage. Yesterday (Sunday) I got up and ran my hands through my hair and that was it. LOL.

I'll see how it does as it grows out over the next few weeks. But I've learned now that I'd best not say "never" ("I'll never have my hair cut short again!"), as apparently "never" is about three and a half years.  :-)

Have a terrific day!

The new shorter hair cut looks perfect for you! And you have not gotten one day older in 3 years! Not kidding there either. It is nice to have pretty hair style without all the hair fixings for drying and styling and curling. I always got so tired of all that mess. Nice you have a new do for Christmas. Good gift to yourself. Sometimes we are hard to buy for, lol.

Oh that "before" pic was two weeks ago, I snapped it to send to my dad. (I was on campus that day.) :-D
You do look fabulous and hooray for easy to take care of, that's a good thing!

L.O.V.E.L.Y. We've done just the opposite, from short-shaggy, to mid-long. Mostly tired of going for cut$$ every 6-weeks and them getting pricier and pricier, at least here. Could no longer leave the salon for under $100 or more, not including gratuity. Of course, whether I can stick with this is another question ... yet to be determined. At least for now, my "ears are warm for winter with the natural covering". Ha, ha!
You though, look totally fabulous with the shorter style!

Kim and am sooooooo very happy to see this most beautiful photo of before and after of you, by the way you are as lovely as I expected. Both hairstyles are becoming. I with you easy is good.

The short cut is definitely flattering to your face. The problem with long(er) hair is you have to do something with it. As I told the hairdresser the other day, I was never one of those girls who practiced different hair-dos in the mirror. A brush through and I'm done.
I had my haircut this weekend too. But there won't be any pictures because the hairdresser cut way more off than I expected so I'm looking a little boyish. Not my favorite look! But it's hair and it will grow. :)

That's why I say, it's hair, it'll grow if I change my mind (not in the short term!) and want to do something else. :-)

I think the short cut is flattering too, Kim. And I've tended to go shorter over the years. Too much trouble to color or manage long. I'm at the age of 'take the easiest route - if it's passable'.
The new style does look lovely and flatters your face. I had waist length hair until I badly broke my leg in 2006 (Thanks Eric!). I got so fed up keep getting my hair caught in my crutches so asked my mobile hairdresser to cut it all off. I had it bob length for a few years then went for very short. I can't remember the last time I used a hairdryer. It is so easy to manage, and Ivor said it makes my fat face look much slimmer. He didn't actually say fat face, he wouldn't dare!

Kim the new style looks nice and fresh on you, and I'm all about the easy styling too.

Jackie, thanks for the laugh (re Ivor)! As for the broken leg courtesy of Eric, that sounds like a story!

You are lucky you have a choice of short or long - some of us do not! However, you are right about short hair being easy to manage. No hair is even easier!

I have this long stuff still. It's a royal pain in the backside each time it's washed and styled. I am going to have to get over it. Shorter IS so much better. Yur stylist did a good job designing a hair style for you. I like it a lot. You say you have a long face...I have a short one, but the highest forehead ever created! Like Mt. Olympus!

I see I hit the done button too fast. My comment disappeared. I had said that I really like your stylist's hair design for you. You mentioned that you thought you had a long face...mine is short but with the highest forehead ever created., Like Mt. Olympus!
