Friday Funnies
Happy Friday!
Late Wednesday I received the final kitchen estimate (from the third company), which turned out to be the highest of the three and didn't include everything I will want/need. So I've decided to move move forward with the second company and have called them to get the ball rolling.
Budget does come into play for me, and while I know it will be more than the quote (as it doesn't include everything I want either), there should still be enough leeway to keep it all under my top amount. (Fingers crossed on that, I know how renos go.) The first and third companies were high to begin with and would have pushed me over by a significant amount, especially with any "hiccups" or changes.
I had already been out to the second company's showroom a few weeks ago and had narrowed down countertop and flooring choices, etc. I'll have to go out again and take more time (it was overwhelming!), then see some samples in my space before finalizing choices. The designer will also need to return to the house with an installer, for final measurements.
So...some progress! Nothing will happen until May at the earliest, and while I have no specific deadline, I do want this completed in 2024 (preferably spring or early summer).
Anyway, it's exciting and scary too, as the only other major reno I've taken on was the bathroom in summer 2022. That was chaotic and expensive enough. This will be more than double the cost of the bathroom; it's a lot of money for me to spend. I hope it's all worth it in the end; heaven knows, the space desperately needs the makeover.
Below: This applies to cats too!
That's it from my corner of the world; I hope everyone is well. Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

I loved the closed door meeting. Madi absolutely turned in to a craze cat if there was a door keeping her out of somewhere. Once the door was opened she could have cared less about the room. She was 100000% sure the door to the garage was where we kept an endless supply of things she wanted. She never found out.
Happy Weekend

I loved all of those cartoons.
Love all the funnies.
Now it's a hurry up and wait until the work starts!
Renovations are scary - but mostly worth it, when one sees the finished results. But, of course, if they are happening while you are living in the apartment, they do tend to turn your life upside down.
Thanks for posting the funnies. They add a bit of sparkle to my day.
