Ah, there's nothing like the magical holiday scent of "Frantic"

I don't know why there isn't actually a holiday scent called "Frantic", it certainly would be appropriate.

I was out early yesterday morning (Saturday) and again today, and had been expecting bedlam yesterday morning. I found it busy, but not insane. Today, at the same time (I had an Amazon return to drop off at Staples), it was much busier, the scent of "frantic" pervasive, at least in certain stores.

I wasn't long out in our west end, where the big box stores and the indoor mall are.

I hope none of you is feeling "frantic" (I'm certainly not!) and that you have a calm, relaxing holiday. It's not about the "stuff" anyway, it's about the food. And wine. Let's not forget the wine.  😁

I'll leave you with a couple of pics of the gingerbread house being raffled off at my favourite downtown café. I didn't even realize it was a North Pole outhouse until I got home downloaded the snapshots. I thought it was Santa's workshop, for heaven's sake! (This is why I should be taking my glasses with me....)

Take care!

the gingerbread houses are really cool...they had a showing of maybe ...40 houses ?? downtown the past couple of weeks. you have to wonder if the creators of the houses eat them, or spray em with glue to preserve for the next year !!! ♥♥
The gingerbread poo house made me laugh. I am not at all frantic, in fact I think I am the most relaxed I have been in a long time. That must be what having good news does for you! Apart from my meat I have had everything delivered and if there is anything I have forgotten, well tough luck!

Merry Christmas! No, not frantic... not exactly relaxed either... but getting things done (albeit a bit slower than past years - sigh!) Been baking for friends and family for days. Want to keep up the tradition (but getting harder to do - age??) ; )

I'm not shopping at all, so I am safe, frantic or otherwise. As for the out-house; it could be a workshop. It depends what he's working on...
That's a funny sign and such a fun gingerbread house!
I love the cartoons! It is a good reminder for me NOT to get frantic. I both love and dread this time of year. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas :)

I walked into one store and it was so crowded, I walked right back out. So I’m doing most of my shopping online. Well, except for groceries. Got to brave the stores to get those.

We are most definitely not about the frantic, Kim. We did a lot of our gift shopping online, so it's definitely made things much more enjoyable. The gingerbread outhouse is very funny!

Wishing you the happiest of holidays. Hugs!
Needless to say I'm laughing at the Gingerbread 💩 hole. But I really like the first one about Mary's water breaking. I kind of Imagine That as a man's thing is they like to put off to the last minute to do anything. Especially shopping. I do hope you have a wonderful Christmas Day and a little peace and quiet with your vacation. Lynn and Precious XX 🎄🎄🐈‍⬛

Hi Kim..fun post. I loved the referenced to last minute shoppers.
For several years I worked part time in retail. I cannot tell you how many times I was tempted give the last minute shoppers the worst and most foul piece of my mind. How dare they walk in a store at 5:30 pm on Christmas eve and say they enjoy last minute shopping.
Any way hugs and Happy Christmas Eve Eve.
We had a wonderful 4 day visit with our daughter and son in law) and grandkittiesI have tons of photos. OMCs Marlu and Greg surprised us with a most unique gift. They arranged for a behind the scenes tour of the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium...gotta get the photos sorted.
Hugs

Merry Christmas Kim!
Our frantic week is over, and we're relaxing as we countdown the last few days to the big guy's visit. Eli doesn't seem to be all that excited, but then again, he's had more than one event to attend. I'm sure by Christmas morning, he'll be bouncing off the walls.
Love the poo gingerbread house, and especially like the top meme!
I spoke with my brother this morning, and his wife went to town to power shop today. The Christmas tree hasn't yet been decorated either. I bet there will be some frantic moments at their house tomorrow!
Have a wonderful break from work!

I had my shopping down already and one of my sons is here (till in the morning) so it's been wonderful.
