Carpet of Yellow

It was gloriously sunny yesterday, albeit cool, and I took a lunchtime walk in search of crocuses. I didn't see as many as I'd hoped, but one house had a carpet of yellow crocuses on their front lawn. They do this annually, always yellow, and always a joy to see!




I'm glad I went yesterday, because today we have snow flurries and bitterly cold temps. Those poor crocuses will be toast!

Our blooms seem to be a bit late this year ... same reason I imagine. A day or so of sun and warmth, then cold sets in again ... poor Mother Nature gets a little confused! Lovely photos though ...

The crocus are so cheerful. When I first opened your page I thought it was going to be dandelions. And wondered how as even my dandys are not open yet! I'm glad you saw these before the bitter cold returns. I've seen lots of daffodils, but not much in the way of crocus. Don't know if I missed them or maybe they are not up yet. I don't have any because of the deer. We got 6 inches of rain and now the bitter cold moved in Sunday. Yuck and yuck, lol. Lynn and Precious XX

The crocus look lovely. None of ours came up this year, and not many last year. I expect the bulbs were eaten by mice now there is no Eric and Flynn to keep them under control.

Oh wow! That's so pretty. What a treat to have seen them in person, Kim. Sad that they're going to get frosted overnight, though. Sigh. Springtime is so fickle!

The crocus are pretty hardy, as long as the snow wasn't too deep, they should be okay. I've never seen yellow crocus, only purple. They are gorgeous!!
