Thankful Thursday (with a bit...a lot...of sarcasm)
Oh, yes, I'm "thankful" for winter. "Thankful" for our city's excellent sidewalk cleaning, you can see we're so pedestrian-friendly.
We had a messy snow/rain system move through yesterday, the results of which you can see above. I did go for an "EMT" (early morning trudge) yesterday, though, in spite of it, but did not go this morning. I did, however, pop down to the little nearby café for a tea latté and breakfast sandwich to go. If I'd realized how bad it was underfoot, I'd have stayed inside.
Oh, yes, how I just love winter! (Linda, if you're reading this, I'm being sarcastic in the extreme, because even though I try to make the best of it, I loathe winter with every fibre of my being. It feels like my soul/spirit shrivels up in winter, just waiting for warmth and new growth.)

Now, as for the genuinely thankful things: I'm thankful I'm still able-bodied, in spite of osteoarthritis in some joints, and can clamber over chunks of snow and ice. For those who are mobility-challenged and without a car, winters here mean being a virtual shut-in unless you can afford taxis.
I'm also thankful for cheery holiday lights that brighten up my early morning trudges!
Finally, I'm very thankful that we have only ten more days before the Winter Solstice and the return of the Light. Cue my happy dance!

About the only thing good with snow is how pretty the colored lights look reflecting on it.

I'm over winter too, as evidenced by my trip south this year. If it weren't for my family, I wouldn't be in the cold and snow now. I've had the conversation, because flying to and from with hotel and rental cars is expensive, I'll only come home for Christmas every second year. I'm grateful that this is an option for me and wish you could get away too.
Your extended Christmas vacation starts soon - end of next week if I remember correctly? Then you can hibernate on the truly miserable days!

I am not a fan of winter, the short days.
We had our first real snowstorm last night.
Now, I have to get out there and clean off the cars and driveway.
It has been so cold lately, I am ready for spring.
