Musings on a Small Life

This will be a mish-mash; all snapshots are from a waterfront walk last Sunday. Let's see...I had a nice catch-up dinner with my "old" work gang a week and a half ago: the two who retired last year, plus the remaining co-worker who has been there almost as long as I have. (There's less than two months between the time I started and the time she started, so we're the old guard, so to speak.). We call ourselves the "Fab Four" and even when we're all retired, we'll still be calling ourselves that. I couldn't have had a better group of co-workers. I've been having lots of "firsts" this year (and of course not always in good ways), but more recently I've started having acupuncture, and now this coming week I'll be going for osteopathy for an ongoing ear/jaw issue that my family doctor clinic can't help with. I had chiropractic adjustments years ago, after a car accident, but this will be the first time I've had osteo...

It feels like forever since I posted, though of course that's not true. Thanks for the comments on the squirrels; they are cute cat-tormentors. :-) I'm feeling much better after last week's root canal appointment. Had some issues with one (of two) of the antibiotics prescribed, so stopped that after 5 days and have been fine since. (Be very wary of Clindamycin, especially if you take stomach acid-reducing meds as I do.) I also got the results of the ultrasound I'd had a week ago: While I do have gallstones (knew that going in), there's no indication of inflammation or a blockage, no abdominal pain associated with gallbladder problems. Reading between the lines of what the resident-du-jour said, all this difficulty probably is a middle-aged, fat lady/person issue. Possibly GERD, though I seldom have actual acid reflux. (A lot of other gastric issues, though.) He was stumped by the left side/chest discomfort (an ECG and blood work mid-October were fine). ...

Just a few things to catch up on:  Obviously work is busy and I've not had the time to blog for either myself or the cats. I have a pre-scheduled post for tomorrow on the Fuzzy Tales blog, just with some snapshots from the weekend, hope to find time tomorrow or perhaps Friday to visit anyone I haven't for a while. I'm so-so on this working 8AM to 4PM deal. (How spoiled have I been with my former boss? LOL.) Going in for 8AM is easy, it's the hanging around till 4PM that's hard. The extra half-hour makes a world of difference, as I don't get home till 5PM or later. When I got home on Monday,  Nicki (who's always first to greet me, Mr. Alpha Cat that he is), wasn't around. He didn't come when I called (and called and called) and I yanked off my boots and coat, heart in mouth, thinking he'd died in the basement or was in the throes of death.
