Mid-week catch-up
Just a few things to catch up on:
Obviously work is busy and I've not had the time to blog for either myself or the cats. I have a pre-scheduled post for tomorrow on the Fuzzy Tales blog, just with some snapshots from the weekend, hope to find time tomorrow or perhaps Friday to visit anyone I haven't for a while.
I'm so-so on this working 8AM to 4PM deal. (How spoiled have I been with my former boss? LOL.) Going in for 8AM is easy, it's the hanging around till 4PM that's hard. The extra half-hour makes a world of difference, as I don't get home till 5PM or later.
When I got home on Monday, Nicki (who's always first to greet me, Mr. Alpha Cat that he is), wasn't around. He didn't come when I called (and called and called) and I yanked off my boots and coat, heart in mouth, thinking he'd died in the basement or was in the throes of death. I went downstairs and he was meat-loafing on one of the old area mats (the mats all migrate downstairs until they finally go in the garbage), seemingly fine. He deigned to get up and greet me, at last. I think he was pissed that I was late, as far as he was concerned.
Yesterday he was right at the door as I was coming in, per usual!
My two back room windows are being replaced on Friday; the installer will be at the house around 8AM. I was grumbling about wasting a vacation day on that, but it turns out that I'll have data files to format and can do that at home (particular project that needs to be done ASAP and get sent out next week).
Though maybe with the whacko neighbour mother it's not a good idea to be home during the window replacement! LOL. Actually, I've printed up a note, in a large, bold font, to tape to their mailbox when I get home today, as I did prior to the renos in November. And I've already emailed the admin person at the property management company to let her know the windows are being done, I'm leaving a note for the neighbours, snapping a pic of the note attached to their mailbox, blah blah. Being super-paranoid and trying to cover all my bases.
I have a "road trip" out to a local home-demolition place in a couple of weeks, with my former cubicle-mate and her hubby (the two who helped with the work in the house in December). I still need a new-to-me bi-fold door and they figure I can pick a good one up there for little money (they know the guy). I also want to scope the place out for other things I might want or need down the road.
Nothing re: my baseboard trim yet. I had emailed my stylist's dad about it last week, but haven't heard a thing. I don't think we're communicating in a way that allows us to understand each other, because I asked a couple of questions in the email and expected a reply. I think he, however, has the expectation that I'll just call him and arrange something. So I'm just going to let this go. And as with everything else in my house, it won't get done, or it'll take another dozen years or whatever. ::Shrug:: The reality is that if I don't get to things right away, I lose interest.Which is partly why my townhouse is in the state it is.
Um, let's see...anything else? Nah, not really. I've regained about 5 pounds, though (had lost 25), mostly because the sidewalks and roads are too bad to walk on and I can't burn off enough calories to compensate for my food intake. And it's winter--I'm in carb and sugar mode, unfortunately. Another ::shrug:: My new slacks already are tight, so I guess it's a good thing I have other sizes to wear. LOL.
That's about it. Mostly I'm finding the mornings quick, the afternoons horribly long, and the weeks in general passing quickly! :-)
Workman calendar page for today.
Purrs from the boys and peace from me.

Glad things are going as smoothly as they can.

I hope all goes well with the window replacement. I haven't had much time either this week for blogging.
Love the pic of Nicki with his little tongue. So cute!
